VOINews, Jakarta - The Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) and museum consulting agency France Museums discussed the development of a museum equipped with futuristic technology in the new capital city (IKN) Nusantara, East Kalimantan Province.
“We would like to know how to develop an up-to-date museum. For example, we used to see museums that display history, but now, we can see museums applying futuristic concepts, such as holograms,” OIKN Head Bambang Susantono noted in a statement received here on Friday.
Susantono then explained that the authority visited France Museums in Paris to gain insights on ways to develop a museum that applies futuristic technology.
“In addition to merely discussing how to build a museum, the Nusantara Capital City Authority met with the France Museums to gain knowledge on how to develop a museum equipped with futuristic technology,” he stated.
During its visit to France, OIKN had an opportunity to discuss various aspects related to museums with Herve Barbaret and Junia Jorgji, France Museums’ chief executive officer and director of special projects.
OIKN made the most of the visit to gain an outlook on how to develop a futuristic museum in IKN that displays the unique identity of the new capital city.
Chief Executive Officer Herve Barbaret emphasized the importance of creating and applying adaptive technology that can preserve its relevance from time to time in the hopes of proffering up-to-date experiences to visitors of a museum.
Meanwhile, Junia Jorgji, on her part, said that OIKN should apply extraordinary ways of thinking in developing a museum, adding that the most important aspect is to not copy something that already exists.
It is expected that by holding a discussion with France Museums, OIKN will succeed in building a unique and futuristic museum that can attract a broad population for a long term. (Reuters)
