Themed “Discover Indonesia” the Indonesian Pavilion in one of the largest film markets in Asia the Hong Kong International Film Festival & TV Market -FILMART seeks to introduce national diversity in the big screen industry.
Main Expert of Tourism and Creative Economy at the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Nia Niscaya in an official statement in Jakarta Wednesday (13/3) said this theme shows Indonesia's efforts to present inspiring creative works that have a positive impact globally. She said the Indonesian Pavilion which took part in FILMART which was held on March 11-14 was initiated by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy together with the Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Service and the Ministry of Education Culture Research and Technology together with Jakarta Film Week as co-organizer
There are 15 delegations from production companies and film festivals in Indonesia attending FILMART 2024. During the Hong Kong FILMART Indonesian Pavilion held two main events The first was the Discover Indonesia Networking Hour which was held on Monday 11 March 2024 According to Nia Niscaya this activity is an opportunity to strengthen international relations and collaboration between many parties
Meanwhile the second event was a talk show which was divided into two themes The first talk show was held on March 13 entitled A Close Look at Indonesia's Film Industry focused on the growth of the Indonesian film industry in the last few decades to provide a comprehensive overview of the role of talent in shaping the success of the Indonesian film industryThe second talk show was entitled Capturing Wonderful Indonesia: Film Locations and Production Assets The event discussed in-depth filming locations infrastructure and film activities in Indonesia with the hope of inviting further collaboration in highlighting the beauty and richness of Indonesia through the camera lens
Through this series of events Nia hopes the Indonesian Pavilion at Hong Kong FILMART 2024 can become a foundation for the growth of the Indonesian film industry which is increasingly high quality and globally competitive. With Indonesia's involvement in Hong Kong FILMART she also hopes to create opportunities for Indonesian films to collaborate with other countries open up opportunities for international cooperation including co-production and increase the existence of the Indonesian film industry globally
