Indonesia Expresses Its Concern Over Kashoggi

Indonesian President Joko Widodo expressed his concern over the case of Saudi Arabian Journalist, Jamal Kashoggi. President Joko Widodo expressed his concern while receiving Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister, Adel Bin Ahmed Al Jubeir at Bogor State Palace in Bogor  on Monday (22/10). Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister,  Retno LP Marsudi said that President Joko Widodo during the meeting with Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister also explained  his hope, so that the process of investigation over the death of Jamal Kashoggi can be done transparently and carefully.

“President also expressed his concern about the case and the death of Jamal Kashoggi. Indonesia hopes the investigation  must be done transparently and carefully,” Retno Marsudi said.

The Saudi Arabian government has announced the statement that approved the death of Jamal Khashoggi in Saudi Arabian Consulate in Istanbul, Turkey on October 2, 2018. Before his visit to Indonesia, Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister, Adel al-Jubeir stated that the murder of Khashoggi was a big and fatal mistake. He said, King Salman and Crown Prince, Mohammed Bin Salman did not really know the case and they have conveyed their condolence to Khashoggi’s son. Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister also stated by Twitter that Saudi Arabia authority has arrested  18 suspects and will process the legally in the country. (VOI/Ndy/Trans:AF/DP)
