Indonesia Affirms Commitment to Cooperate with Lebanon

Indonesian Minister of Religious Affairs Lukman Hakim Syaifuddin reiterated the Indonesian government's commitment to support the creation of unity and stability in Lebanon. In his remarks at Lebanon's 75th anniversary of Independence Day celebrations, on Monday (26/11) in Jakarta, Lukman Hakim said, to date, the Indonesian government has contributed to improving stability in Lebanon by sending more than 1500 Indonesian Armed Forces as peacekeepers joined in United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). Lukman Hakim is optimistic that the Lebanese can face the challenges while developing into a more advanced country in the future.
 
"We know that the people in Lebanon have been through a lot but we also believe that you will overcome difficulties and move forward. In this line I would like to reiterate our commitment to the Lebanon's unity, integrity and stability," Lukman Hakim said. 
 
 
Regarding bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and Lebanon, Minister of Religion Lukman Hakim Syaifuddin said that there are still many opportunities for the two countries to develop cooperation that had been established to date. He said, several sectors that have the opportunity to develop such cooperation include economic cooperation, education, culture, education and teaching of moderate Islam and improving relations between communities and businesses.
