The Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Politics of Law and Security Wiranto on Tuesday at the President's Office ensured that the 2019 General Election democratic party would run safely. This was conveyed in response to the concerns of a number of parties who are worried about riots during the election. According to Wiranto, the police have compiled the Election Vulnerability Index since some time ago. Based on the index, vulnerability prior to and during the election will certainly not occur. He also appealed to all Indonesian people to continue to support efforts to make the election successful by using their respective voting rights.
"From the index of Election vulnerability in the previous 6 months we have already known the score. Which areas are not too safe. Not safe why? From that index, 6 months earlier, we continuously made efforts to neutralize these vulnerabilities. So that our calculations are from the security forces and also help with the holding of elections, so the 2019 election will take place safely. Therefore don’t trust it. Stay in Indonesia, become a good voter, don't be abstain, don't leave Indonesia," said Wiranto.
Wiranto further said, he along with the Police and Election organizers continue to coordinate to ensure the 2019 General Election ran smoothly. He also hoped that the political elite in the country would not disturb the security stability of the election by issuing baseless controversial statements. (VOI/Ndy/AHM)
