North Kalimantan is a relatively new province in Indonesia. It was inaugurated on October 25, 2012 with Tarakan as the capital city. The location is directly adjacent to Sabah and Sarawak in Malaysia. The people living in North Kalimantan are very diverse; some are from South Sulawesi, Dayak, Banjar, Bulungan, Tidung and Kutai. Ethnic diversity in this province, of course, affects its culinary.One of them is " “Tumis Kapah” or Sauteed Kapah, a popular Tarakan traditional cuisine. Kapah is sea shell species that live the in muddy part of the sea. Kapah contains lots of protein which is perfect for those of you who want to meet the protein supply in the body. Kapah is usually presented in the form of stir-fry. Sauteed with onion, garlic, then added with lime sauce.Besides being sautéed, Kapah can also be enjoyed just after being boiled with lime sauce.
