Indonesian President , Joko Widodo reminded that urban population growth around the world continuously increases. Therefore, the issue of urban setup in the New Urban Agenda is very important. It was said by President  Joko Widodo  when  opening the  World Habitat Day commemoration virtually  which was held at the Surabaya City Hall, East Java on Monday night (5/10). The President further said  if it is not seriously prepared, the rapid growth of the community can trigger many problems. On the other hand, if it is handled properly, urbanization can be an opportunity for the progress of Indonesia.

"If it is  not seriously prepared, the rapid growth of the community can trigger problems such as   density and poverty, environmental problems and availability of public spaces, the availability of basic infrastructure, particularly  clean water and sanitation, including housing problems and various other urban problems. However, if Indonesia handles it well, I believe that the urbanization can be an extraordinary opportunity for the progress of Indonesia. It can become a center for creativity and innovation, can encourage the economic growth, and improve the quality of life and welfare of its citizens" The President said.
