Indonesia will participate in China International Import Expo 2018 that will be held in Shanghai on 5 to 10 November 2018. Trade Ministry’s Director General of Export Development, Arlinda said China is Indonesia's main trading partner with a total trade of 58 billion US Dollars. China is the largest export and import market for Indonesia. Currently, Indonesia is still experiencing 14.1 billion US Dollar trade deficits with China. To that end, Indonesia will further enhance the trade promotion. One of them is through China International Import Expo. To the media, at the Indonesian Ministry of Trade on Tuesday, March 13, he explained, this exhibition is the first held by the Chinese government. The Chinese government invites more than 200 countries and 150 thousand buyers to participate. At this exhibition, Indonesia is one of four countries that gets pavilion area of 160 square meters for free. According to Arlinda, this is an excellent opportunity for Indonesia to promote Indonesia's potential products.

“But this means a good opportunity for us to be able to reduce the deficit. So we are trying to participate and we collaborate with our Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Indonesia-Chinese Entrepreneur Association and we have booked 1000 meter wide booth,” Arlinda said.

Arlinda further explained that after participating in the exhibition, Indonesia's products will be promoted on the Expo website. The Ministry of Trade is still discussing, what products will be displayed in Indonesian Pavilion. The exhibition of Indonesian products will be divided into three zones, namely agricultural zone, consumer goods zone and tourism zone. Arlinda has asked the organizers to make the Indonesian pavilion located in a strategic location. The Ministry of Trade will coordinate with the local governments to help presenting Indonesia's flagship products. The products to be exhibited include coffee, palm, rubber, and automotive.
