The Tourism and Cultural Office of Jakarta is preparing to deploy licensed and professional tour guides who are incorporated in the Indonesian Tour Guides Association (HPI) to support the Asian Games and Asian Paragames 2018. When opening the Youth Guide Training Head of the Tourism and Cultural Office of Jakarta, Tinia Budiati said in Jakarta on Thursday, January 25th that Jakarta will hold a big event this year, namely the Asian Games and Paragames, so that the role of guides to support the events is required.

At the 18 Asian Games which will be held from August 18 to September 2, Jakarta will receive tens of thousands of guests, such as athletes, coaches, officials and other supporting personnel. The Asian Games will then be followed by the Asian Paragames from October 8 to 16. Some 9.5 thousand athletes; 2.5 thousand personnel of the Asian Olympic Council; and 5.5 thousand technical delegates from 45 countries will participate, or be involved, in the event. At least 3.5 thousand media representatives are expected to cover the event. (Ant)

Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan discussed Indonesia`s efforts in developing rural areas during a meeting with the Netherland`s Queen Maxima during the World Economic Forum held in Davos, Switzerland on Wednesday, January 24th. In a press release received by Antara News Agency  on Thursday (January 25^th) Queen  Maxima, as the United Nations Secretary-General`s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development, explained the importance of global inclusive finance, including in handling poverty in rural areas.

She also pointed out that the visions written in the Sustainable Development Goals -SDGs are related to one another. In response, Minister Luhut Pandjaitan stated that the Indonesian government is currently prioritizing the government funds for the development of rural areas in a bid to reduce the poverty rate. The Financial Services Authority -OJK confirmed that virtual currency, including Bitcoin, is not a valid payment instrument in Indonesia. The provision has been valid since the beginning of the year.  OJK Chairman of the Board of Commissioner, Wimboh Santoso said in Jakarta on Thursday, January 25^th) that the legitimate means of payment in Indonesia is the currency -rupiah. He stated that crypto-currency is already banned. His statement responded to the launch of investment products in the form of crypto-currency by Aladin Capital. The currency is reported to have a guarantee in HSBC and has grown rapidly in several countries, especially in Vietnam. The prohibition of virtual currency, including Bitcoin by the authorities must be obeyed by the financial services sector. Wimboh asserted that OJK is the authority that supervises and gives permission for investment products, so that any financial services institution that launches investment products must report to the institution. Minister of Trade, Enggartiasto Lukita stated that Indonesia successfully won a biodiesel dispute with the European Union -EU. The final result of the WTO Dispute Council Panel ruling won six Indonesian lawsuits against the EU. This was disclosed by Minister Enggartiasto Lukita from Islamabad, Pakistan on Friday (26/1). This is a form of landslide victory for Indonesia which certainly opens wide market access and re-spurred the performance of biodiesel exports to the European Union for Indonesian producers who previously had experienced the lethargy due to the imposition of anti-dumping duties on the product. The EU imposed anti-dumping duties on Indonesia's biodiesel products since 2013 with a dumping margin of 8.8 percent to 23.3 percent. Since then, Indonesia's biodiesel exports to the EU have declined. Based on data from the Central Bureau of Statistics from 2013-2016, Indonesia's biodiesel exports to the EU fell from $ 649 million dollars in 2013 to $150 million dollars in 2016, down 42.84%.
