Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Marsudi has witnessed the signing of Host Country Agreement (HCA) of ASEAN Institute for Peace and Reconciliation –AIPR in Jakarta on Thursday. The agreement was signed by Director General for ASEAN Cooperation of Indonesian Foreign Affairs Ministry, Jose Tavares and Executive Director of AIPR, Rezlan Ishar Jenie. Minister Retno stated that the signing of the agreement is a form of Indonesia’s consistency in promoting peace and reconciliation both in the regional and international level. She views that the signing of the HCA marks the commencement of AIPR's operations in conducting study and research in promoting peace and conflict resolution. Minister Retno also said that since 2017, Indonesia has hosted AIPR for three consecutive years by covering its operational costs and he added that the costs will be accounted by all ASEAN member states.  

“…Indonesiaremains consistent with its peace diplomatic mission so that Indonesia hosts the AIPR. We have provided operational costs for three years since 2017 in addition to the office that is also provided by the government. The next operational costs will be supported by all ASEAN member states. So once again, this is our consistency in peace diplomacy to strengthen the political and security pillar of ASEAN Community," Retno said. 

Moreover, Minister Retno Marsudi further explained that the Host Country Agreement covers the privilege and immunities towards AIPR to operate in Indonesia. In carrying out its duties and functions, AIPR will conduct research in the areas of peace and conflict resolution. In addition, Minister Retno also pointed out that AIPR will also conduct capacity building activities and support the ASEAN sectoral body. Furthermore, Minister Retno said, AIPR will be the scientific hub in building network with various institutions in the field of peace and conflict resolution. (Ndy)

According to a Nielsen survey, Radio Republik Indonesia -RRI is the only radio with the most listeners in Indonesia. That’s why, Football Momentum Asia -FMA chooses RRI to broadcast World Cup to be held in Russia from June 14th to July 15th 2018. During a press conference held at Galeri Triprasetya RRI Building in Jakarta on January 30th 2018, President Director of RRI M. Rohanudin said that RRI facilitates disabilities to listen to the World Cup 2018.

…This is what RRI can do and previously, we mentioned that it is not 1.3 percent of disabilities but 1.5 percent of disabilities and 80 percent of them is the listeners of Radio Republik Indonesia," Rohanudin said

President Director M. Rohanudin added that RRI will give all the best by deploying the reporters on the field and disseminating information to the listeners about the World Cup 2018. On the same occasion, a member of Presidential Advisory Council, Agum Gumelar stated that he is proud that RRI provides facilities for 1.5 percent of disabilities in Indonesia to listen to live broadcast of the World Cup 2018. Indonesia and Australia will expand their cooperation in digital sector through several initiatives that have been discussed during Indonesia-Australia Digital Forum 2018 in Jakarta. This forum is an initiative of President Joko Widodo and Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull. During a press conference on Thursday,February 1st, 2018 at Fairmont Hotel, Jakarta, Minister of Indonesian Communication and Information Technology Rudiantara stated that Indonesia has begun to prepare all forms of digital documents with good protection.

“The government embarks the initiative of all issues, all permits or licensed issuance have to go online. Starting this year President instructed that every permit or licensed applied by the business have to go by single submission process which is online. That is the transparency from the government. The transparency in general has to go along with the private data protection and government is preparing the law for private data protection we have discuss with the parliament but hopefully soon it will be part of Indonesian Prolegnas. That is Indonesian transparency and how we have to protect the privacy of the people of Indonesia,” Rudiantara said.

Minister Rudiantara added that to convert all analog data into digital, Indonesia is working together with Australia through the Indonesia-Australia Digital Forum held from January 31st to February 1st, 2018 in Jakarta//// (VOI/NK/AHM)

Head of Corruption Eradication Commission, Agus Rahardjo, appreciated the launching of Programa 4, Encyclopedia of Indonesian Culture at Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI). The commission invited RRI Public Service Broadcasting along with Corruption Eradication Commission to eradicate the corruption. This was stated by Agus Rahardjo when launching ‘Programa 4, Encyclopedia of Indonesian Cultureat Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) in Jakarta on Wednesday (31/1). Agus asserted that it is important to socialize anti-corruption culture because people tend to be relax and not to make corruption as a big threat for the state.

 

“In Pro4 FM, please anti-corruption culture is socialized. Because it is important. I always invite in many opportunities. As citizen is still relax, not fell corruption as threat. So, we become just as audience, only to heard," Agus Rahardjo said.

 

RRI launched ‘Programa 4 Encyclopedia of Indonesian Culture as an effort to explore, to introduce, to preserve and to develop culture among young people’s community.
