Jakarta (voinews): Indonesia's national esports team for the Crossfire game event is partaking in a training camp program in Hangzhou, China, as part of the preparation for the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia.

"The training camp in China for Crossfire national team is part of PBESI's (Indonesian Esports Central Board's) commitment, especially in enhancing the skills and honing the intuition (of athletes) in competing strategically," PBESI's Secretary General Frengky Ong said through an official statement on Sunday.

He expressed hope that the good preparation of the team and support from professionals will result in good achievements at the multi-sport event.

The training camp is carried out at an esports hotel operated by the Chinese technology and entertainment company Tencent.

During the program, the national team will also conduct match-ups with strong teams from China to hone technical aspects, including skills and strategies, as well as non-technical aspects, such as mental readiness.

"Since February 2023, all national teams have been seriously trained through the national training center held at the Bellezza, Jakarta," he said.

He advised the national team to make the most of the training camp to carry out their mission.

Head of Indonesia's Esports National Team Yohannes Paraloan Siagian explained that Crossfire is one of the first-person shooter (FPS) games that has been around for a long time and has enlivened Indonesia's esports scene.

According to him, the national team had previously bagged the bronze medal at the 31st SEA Games in Vietnam in 2021.

He noted that the achievement had boosted the national team's confidence that, with innovations to prepare the team, including the training camp, it will be able to achieve better accomplishment at this year's edition of SEA Games.

Siagian expressed optimism that by participating in the training camp, which is supported by up-to-date esports facilities and opportunities for match-ups with reputable teams, the Crossfire national team will have better competitiveness for the 32nd SEA Games. (Antaranews)

Jakarta (voinews): President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) praised the beauty of Batu Cermin Cave in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai District, East Nusa Tenggara, during his visit to the super-priority tourist destination with his family, according to the local tourism office.

"The president saw the inside of the cave, then praised the cave's beauty. He was very satisfied," West Manggarai Tourism, Creative Economy, and Culture Office official Santo stated here on Sunday.

Santo, who guided the president's visit, said that Jokowi asked many questions during his tour there, including local folklore about the cave.

He noted that while Jokowi's family members who joined the tour walked down the trail to the cave, only Jokowi and his grandson, Jan Ethes Srinarendra, entered the cave.

Jokowi and Srinarendra wore helmets as safety precautions before entering the cave by crouching to avoid hitting rocks, Santo added.

The official pointed out that the president attracted by the natural features in the Batu Cermin Cave, which he said is maintained to give a good impression to visitors.

"The president also hopes tourists' visits to Batu Cermin Cave can increase after this. In principle, he praised the cave's beauty," he remarked.

After observing the Batu Cermin Cave, Jokowi and his family purchased souvenirs sold by local traders at the tourist attraction's front gate.

Jokowi and his entourage arrived by presidential aircraft at Labuan Bajo's Komodo Airport on Saturday (April 22) at 06.44 pm local time, after spending his Eid al-Fitr morning in his hometown Surakarta, Central Java.

Earlier, President Director of Labuan Bajo Flores Tourism Authority (BPOLBF) Shana Fatina confirmed that one of the president's agenda during his visit was to observe the ASEAN Summit preparation hosted in Labuan Bajo in May.

According to the Indonesian Embassy in Bandar Seri Begawan, different from last year, the Eid prayer this time will still be carried out according to health protocols, including wearing masks and each congregation bringing their own prayer mats, but not as strict as that implemented by the Government of Brunei Darussalam last year.

"This year there are no more restrictions on Eid prayers for children under 11 years of age and a limit on the number of worshipers from the Ministry of Health of Brunei Darussalam," wrote the Indonesian Embassy in an official statement received, Saturday (22/4/2023).
