G20 member countries are reminded to apply the principle of equality in funding the Covid-19 pandemic. This was conveyed by the C20 Coordinator for Vaccine Access and Global Health, Agung Prakoso, Sunday (13/11/2022).

According to him, so far civil society groups have never been actively involved in various discussions about pandemic funding.

"On the other hand, private foundations are given wide space," said Agung, in a press statement.

Furthermore, he revealed that the global funding program was formed because of the problem of inequality in financing the pandemic.

"This should be overcome by providing affordable pandemic needs for low-income countries," said Agung.

The pandemic funding was inaugurated by the Minister of Health and Minister of Finance of the G20 countries at a meeting in Nusa Dua, Bali, Sunday (13/11).

The program is expected to raise $10.5 billion to be used as money for the next pandemic preparedness.

Agung said his party would continue to push for pandemic funding to place equal representatives of civil society on the decision-making board.
