PLN Gradually Recovers Electricity Supply (0)
State-owned electricity firm PT PLN has recovered electric power to Balaraja Extra High Voltage substation in Banten Province, and furthermore it will be channeled to Suralaya steam-fueled power plant (PLTU) to gradually recover its operation to reach its capacity of 2800 MW of electricity.
In addition, power supply from Gandul Extra High Voltage substations in Depok, West Java Province, will be channeled to Muara Karang gas and steam power plant (PLTGU) to supply electricity to the Indonesian capital city, Jakarta.
Acting President Director of PLN Sripeni Inten Cahyani said here on Sunday that the power supply to Jakarta was expected to recover within three hours.
"We apologize for the inconvenience today, and currently all efforts have been made to recover the Java-Bali power system, especially in the area of West Java, Banten, and Jakarta," Cahyani said.
The company has focused on power supply to PLTGU Muara Karang and PLTGU Priok to recover the system in the capital city.
Previously, PLN has recovered the operation of hydro-generated power plant (PLTA) Saguling and PLTA Cirata which are functioned as power stabilizer, and, at the same time, supply the electricity to PLTU Suralaya through Cibinong, Depok, Gandul, Lengkok, Balaraja and Suralaya extra high voltage substations.
PLTU Suralaya is expected to return to its normal operation within six hours to normalize power system in West Java and Banten.
Blackout that affected thousands of homes and public facilities in West Java, Jakarta, and Banten was caused by several troubles in the extra high voltage 500 kV transmission of Ungaran - Pemalang.
"PLN has taken its best efforts and will have evaluation to prevent recurrence of today's incident," Cahyani said.

President Open House at the Palace and Meet the People in Monas

Vice President Jusuf Kalla and Mrs. Mufidah Kalla also had time to stay together in this activity.
State officials and the community seemed to be packed with tents that were provided to wait for their turn to meet the President and his family.
In the queue which consisted of the majority of the community, it appeared that some of them were Working Cabinet ministers, namely Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Susi Pudjiastuti, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, until Chief of Staff of the Presidential Moeldoko.
While in the State Palace's souvenir hall, where the public and state officials are received by the President and First Lady, President Joko Widodo welcomes one by one to his guests with smiles and greetings.
"Happy Eid, apologize for the inner birth," said the President while greeting his guests.

President Jokowi with First Lady Iriana Salat Id at Istiqlal Mosque

The president arrived at around 6:45 a.m. and was welcomed by Religious Minister Lukman Hakim Saifuddin, Minister of State Pratikno, and High Priest of Istiqlal Mosque Nasaruddin Umar along with the Chairperson of the Executive Board of the Istiqlal Mosque (BPPMI) Asep Saepudin.
Furthermore, the Head of State first conducts the prayer of the superstition of the mosque before carrying out a series of congregational Id prayers led by Prof. Dr. H. Said Agil Husin Al-Munawar, M.A.
The theme of the sermon in the Id Prayer this time was "Eid Al-Fitr Spreading Sorry Building Togetherness" delivered by the Professor of Interpretation and Hadith of the Jakarta Syarif Hidayatullah UIN.
Said said, in this Islamic Eid moment all Muslims should forgive each other. Allah SWT strongly advocates and enjoys the attitude of giving and receiving forgiveness.
The Qur'an, which is the guideline of the life of Muslims, also teaches people not to fight with each other and spread benefits to others.
"Even the Koran is proven to teach humans to have the nature of mutual love, forgiveness, and creating peace," he said.

Some 50,000 Indonesian Muslims Perform Eid Prayers at Taipei Station
Written bySome 50 thousand Indonesian Muslims performed Eid-al-Fitr prayers in the yard of Taipei Main Station in Taiwan on Wednesday.
Owing to space restrictions in the former intercity bus terminal in Taiwan, the congregation was segregated into three groups, with the first one starting at 6:30 a.m. local time, the second group at 8 a.m. local time, and the third group at 9:15 a.m. local time
Each of the groups were guided by a bilal, imam, and preacher, who are Indonesian citizens.
Taipei Mayor Ke Wen Zhe, also present at the event, gave a speech, along with Chief of the Indonesian Trade and Economy Office (KDEI) Didi Sumedi, after the second congregation had offered the Eid-al-Fitr prayers.
"We are grateful to the Taipei city government for facilitating the Eid prayers," Sumedi emphasized.
Zhe pledged to always focus on Indonesian citizens in the city, most of whom are migrant workers employed in the formal and informal sectors.
"We consider Indonesian citizens here as being quite good, so they deserve our praise like this," he noted.
The Taipei administrator provided the place, while the KDEI offered funds to organize the event.
To hold the Eid-al-Fitr prayers at the Taipei Main Station, the Taipei administrator and KDEI collaborated with the executive boards of Nahdlatul Ulama's and Muhammadiyah's special branches in Taiwan, and other social organizations, Indonesian state-owned companies, and private companies in Taiwan. President Jokowi Will Hold 1440 AH Idul Fitri Open House at the State Palace

President Joko Widodo and First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo will hold the Idul Fitri 1440 Hijriah Open House at the State Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday, 5 June 2019, which coincides with 1 Shawwal 1440 Hijri.
This gathering with the community will start at 09.30 WIB until 11.00 WIB.
For people who will attend this gathering, they are welcome to enter through the gathering point on Jalan Silang Monas Barat Laut, Jakarta.
In addition, while waiting for the queue to shake hands with the Head of State, the community will wait in the tents provided. In each of the tents, snacks and drinks have been prepared for the community.
For mutual convenience, guests who were present at the gathering were not allowed to carry bags and cellphones.

Afghans to Take Cue from Religious Tolerance Practiced in Ambon
Written byDelegates from the Islamic State of Afghanistan will pay a visit to Ambon, Maluku Province, to gain insights into how religious tolerance is practiced in the city.
"In line with the schedule we received from the Afghan delegations, they will conduct comparative studies in the city of Ambon on June 19-21, 2019," Ambon Mayor Richard Louhenapessy noted on Sunday.
Ambon was granted a recommendation from the Foreign Affairs Ministry as a destination to delve into the practice of tolerance among religious believers.
The city has a Christian-majority population, and Islam is the second-largest religion.
"The arrival of delegates from Afghanistan is a matter of pride for the people of Ambon. It means that the city is receiving increasingly more acclaim from the international community and, most importantly, Ambon has a brand," he noted.
Louhenapessy affirmed that Ambon is listed among "the most tolerant cities" in Indonesia on the basis of the human rights advocacy group Setara Institute report in 2018.
The group conducts annual research to rank the most tolerant cities based on practices of tolerance followed in 94 cities in the country.
Some of the points under observation are freedom of religion or belief, gender equality, and social inclusion guaranteed and protected by law. In addition, the statements and actions of city government officials regarding tolerance are taken into account.
Louhenapessy added that Ambon City had also bagged the Harmony Award from the Ministry of Religious Affairs for being the most harmonious city.
Out of several cities in Indonesia, Ambon was then designated in the category of being the city with the most harmonious religious life through Minister of Religious Affairs' Decree Number 1 of 2019. (ant)

President Jokowi Leads Ani Yudhoyono's Funeral Ceremony

Singapore Foreign Ministry Expresses Condolences to Yudhoyono Family

The wife of the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono passed away at National University Hospital, Singapore, on Saturday at 11.50 local time after struggling to fight blood cancer in the past four months.
"The Singapore Government extends its deepest condolences to Bapak Yudhoyono and family, and to the people of Indonesia, in this time of mourning," Singapore Foreign Ministry wrote on its press statement, Saturday.
Died at the age of 66, the woman whose full name is Kristiani Herrawati Yudhoyono left her husband, two sons, two daughters-in-law, and four grandchildren. (ANTARA)
