PLN Gradually Recovers Electricity Supply

PLN Gradually Recovers Electricity Supply (0)

State-owned electricity firm PT PLN has recovered electric power to Balaraja Extra High Voltage substation in Banten Province, and furthermore it will be channeled to Suralaya steam-fueled power plant (PLTU) to gradually recover its operation to reach its capacity of 2800 MW of electricity.

In addition, power supply from Gandul Extra High Voltage substations in Depok, West Java Province, will be channeled to Muara Karang gas and steam power plant (PLTGU) to supply electricity to the Indonesian capital city, Jakarta.

Acting President Director of PLN Sripeni Inten Cahyani said here on Sunday that the power supply to Jakarta was expected to recover within three hours.

"We apologize for the inconvenience today, and currently all efforts have been made to recover the Java-Bali power system, especially in the area of West Java, Banten, and Jakarta," Cahyani said.

The company has focused on power supply to PLTGU Muara Karang and PLTGU Priok to recover the system in the capital city.

Previously, PLN has recovered the operation of hydro-generated power plant (PLTA) Saguling and PLTA Cirata which are functioned as power stabilizer, and, at the same time, supply the electricity to PLTU Suralaya through Cibinong, Depok, Gandul, Lengkok, Balaraja and Suralaya extra high voltage substations.

PLTU Suralaya is expected to return to its normal operation within six hours to normalize power system in West Java and Banten.

Blackout that affected thousands of homes and public facilities in West Java, Jakarta, and Banten was caused by several troubles in the extra high voltage 500 kV transmission of Ungaran - Pemalang.

"PLN has taken its best efforts and will have evaluation to prevent recurrence of today's incident," Cahyani said.

Ahead of the Group of 20 Countries (G-20) Summit, the Indonesian Government held an Indonesia Round Table Business Meeting held at The New Otani, Osaka, Japan, Thursday (6/27).

During the meeting the Indonesian Government Delegation was led by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut B Pandjaitan, Minister of Finance (Minister of Finance) Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Minister of Industry Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Trade Engagartiasto Lukita, and Head of the Investment Coordinating Board ( BKPM) Thomas Lembong.

A total of 21 (twenty-one) Japanese companies attended the meeting including Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), Daihatsu Motor Co.LTD, Honda Motor Co.LTD, Marubeni Coorporation, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Mitsui and CO.LTD, Nippon Steel, Sumitomo Corporation, Toyota Tsuho Corporation.

Representing President Joko Widodo, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut B. Pandjaitan in his remarks said that the Indonesian economy had developed well in the past 5 (five) years with an average growth of 5 percent. In addition, legal certainty in Indonesian investment is very important, and the President is very concerned about this.

The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs also said that Japan was very consistent in being an Indonesian partner, and he had no doubt about Japanese businessmen working together in Indonesia.

"The ease of investment in Indonesia is definitely better in the past," Luhut said, saying that he believed Japanese companies had felt that way.

With the consideration that in order to obtain accurate, up-to-date, integrated, accountable, easily accessible and shared data, it is necessary to improve governance of data produced by the government through the implementation of Indonesia Data One, the government considers the need for provisions governing Indonesian Data One.

For this consideration on June 12, 2019, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has signed Presidential Regulation Number 39 of 2019 concerning One Data Indonesia.

"One Data Indonesia is a government data governance policy to produce accurate, up-to-date, integrated, and accountable data, and is easily accessed and shared between Central Agencies and Regional Agencies through the fulfillment of Data Standards, Metadata, Data Interoperability, and using Reference Codes and Master Data, "reads Article I paragraph (1) of this Perpres.

According to this Perpres, Indonesian Data One must be carried out based on the following principles: a. Data produced by Data Producers must meet Data Standards; b. Data produced by Data Manufacturers must have Metadata; c. Data produced by Data Producers must meet Data Interoperability rules; and D. Data generated by the Data Manufacturer must use the Reference Code and / or Master Data.

Data Standard for Data other than Geospatial Data and Statistics Data, according to this Perpres, is determined by other central level Data Trustees, which is one of the Central Agencies given the authority to carry out guidance related to the Data as stipulated in this Presidential Regulation, in addition field of statistical activities or bodies carrying out government duties in the field of geospatial information.

"Data standards that apply across Central Agencies and / or Regional Agencies are stipulated by central level Data Trustees," read Article 6 paragraph (1) of this Presidential Regulation. While the Minister or head of the Central Agency can set a Data Standard for Data whose utilization is intended to meet the needs of agencies in accordance with their duties and functions, insofar as it is determined based on the Data Standards established by the central level Data Trustees.

Data produced by Data Producers, said this Perpres, must be equipped with Metadata, whose information follows a standard structure and standard format referring to the information section on Data that must be covered in Metadata, and refers to technical specifications or standards from Metadata.

The standard structure and standard format for data that applies across the Central Agency and / or Regional Institutions, according to this Perpres, is determined by the central level Data Trustees. While the Minister or head of the Central Agency can establish a standard structure and standard format for Data whose utilization is intended to meet the needs of agencies in accordance with their duties and functions, insofar as it is determined based on the standard structure and standard format established by the central Data Trustees. President Joko Widodo and President of the Republic of Argentina Mauricio Macri held a bilateral meeting with delegates from each country. The meeting was held at the Presidential Palace in Bogor, West Java, on Wednesday, June 26, 2019.

The bilateral meeting was held during a series of state visits by President Mauricio Macri with Madame Juliana Awada to Indonesia. In the bilateral meeting, the two countries discussed various matters, mainly increasing cooperation in two fields, namely trade and investment cooperation, as well as cooperation between people to people contact.

"Argentina is Indonesia's second largest trading partner in South America. Earlier we discussed the improvement of economic cooperation, especially in the fields of trade, agriculture and strategic industries. We discussed various efforts to balance trade between the two countries including counter trade," said President Jokowi in joint press statement.

During the meeting, President Jokowi also offered various goods and services products owned by Indonesia's strategic industries. PT Dirgantara Indonesia (DI) offers aircraft, PT GMF offers cooperation in aircraft maintenance services, and PT INKA offers products with international standard locomotives and carriages.

"President Macri will then discuss with the leaders of PT. DI and PT INKA this afternoon to get a clearer picture," he continued.

In addition, President Jokowi also expressed the need to open Indonesian agricultural commodities that could enter Argentina, either in the form of zalacca, mangosteen, pineapple and others. President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) accompanied by First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo received a visit from the President of the Argentine Republic Mauricio Macri and his wife Juliana Awada, at the Presidential Palace in Bogor, West Java, Wednesday (6/26) afternoon.

Argentine President Mauricio Macri and his entourage arrived at the Bogor Presidential Palace at around 11:10 WIB. The convoy of horsemen and custom-made troops escorted the arrival of the President of the Republic of Argentina from the front yard of the Palace.

When welcoming Mauricio Macri, President Jokowi wore a black suit with a red tie. While the First Lady Iriana looks gracefully dressed in a pink folk kebaya wrapped in a brown batik scarf.

The state ceremony began a series of greetings which were colored by the national anthem of the two countries and the boom of the cannon. After the national anthem of the two countries, President Jokowi and President Mauricio walked to inspect the troops. When passing a row of traditionally clothed children, President Mauricio received a warm welcome. "Welcome to Indonesia," the children shouted.

Furthermore, President Jokowi and Mauricio Macri entered the Bogor Presidential Palace for signing guest books and joint photo sessions. After signing the guest book, President Jokowi invited the Argentine President to head behind the Palace, where the two heads of state carried out Veranda Talk.

Vice President, Jusuf Kalla, opened the conference, emphasizing the important role of the armed forces in determining the effectiveness of the peace mission on Tuesday in Jakarta.

"As a multinational force combined with various UN member states, the effectiveness of UN peace missions will be determined by the effectiveness of the contributing countries themselves. Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi confirmed the Patimban Port development project, in Subang Regency, West Java, went according to plan. For this reason, the Minister of Transportation targets Patimban Port to be operational by mid-2020.

"What we can plan is that maybe in the middle of next year, we will start the first use of the car terminal. Therefore I will coordinate so that it can be resolved, then everything will be finished by the end of 2020, "said the Minister of Transportation after holding a meeting at the Patimban Port Project Site on Sunday (23/6).

With the target to operate in mid-2020, Menhu hopes that road access from and to Patimban Port can be completed.

According to the Minister of Transportation, the progress of the construction of the Patimban Port is currently 29%. Whereas for the car terminal which will operate in the middle of next year the progress has reached 35%.

For information, the presence of a Car Terminal in Patimban Port is expected to reduce traffic density, especially for export-import of vehicles at Tanjung Priok Port. During this time, heavy vehicles, including export-import vehicles, contributed to traffic congestion, especially the section between Bekasi-Tanjung Priok, Jakarta.

The Patimban Port Terminal Car will have a capacity of 250 thousand to 300 thousand vehicles per year.

Reduce Logistics Costs

Meanwhile on the same occasion the Director General of Sea Transportation R. Agus H. Purnomo said the purpose of the Patimban Port development was to reduce logistics costs by bringing production centers closer to ports, strengthening economic resilience, reducing traffic congestion in Jakarta by distributing vehicle traffic flows, and ensuring shipping safety, including oil and gas exploration areas.

The construction itself is carried out in 3 (three) stages. In the first phase, Patimban Port is planned to be able to serve 3.5 million containers (TEUS) and 600,000 motorized vehicles (CBU). In the second stage, the service capacity will increase to 5.5 million TEUs and in the third stage will increase again to 7.5 million TEUs.

In general, Patimban Port will serve container and motorized vehicle types which are transported using large-sized vessels.

"Later the Patimban Port will also be supported by a support area (Backup Area) to support logistics efficiency from and to Patimban Port covering 356 hectares," Agus said.

Besides the activities carried out by the Ministry of Transportation, work has been carried out on the making of road access by the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (KemenPUPR).

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) assesses Sub-Regional cooperation such as Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malayasia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) is the right forum to promote concrete cooperation between regions of the region so that economic development and prosperity can also be felt together.

The statement was delivered by President Jokowi while attending the 13th meeting of the Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malayasia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA), at Athenee Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand, Sunday (23/6).

In this meeting, President Jokowi conveyed three things. First, connectivity cooperation must continue to be encouraged, not only physical infrastructure but also technological infrastructure.

"We must continue to increase the availability of ICT infrastructure to support the new economic growth of the digital economy," said President Jokowi.

In addition, we must maximize the utilization of existing connectivity lines, for example, the Bitung-Davao shipping and Manado-Davao flights.
