On January 14, 2016 there was a Terror Bombing and shooting incident in the area around Plaza Sarinah, Jalan MH Thamrin, Central Jakarta, DKI Jakarta, Indonesia. 

The explosion occurred in two places, namely the Menara Cakrawala parking area, the building at the north of Sarinah, and a police post in front of the building.

Four attackers and four civilians were killed and 24 others injured in the attack. Seven people were involved as perpetrators of the attack, and the ISIS organization claimed responsibility for the attack.

Chemical Weapons Convention is an arms control treaty that outlaws the production, stockpiling, and use of chemical weapons. This Convention was signed in Paris, France on January 13, 1993. and administered by the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW). 

The Chemical Weapons Convention prohibits the large-scale use, development, production, stockpiling, and transfer of chemical weapons. Very limited production for research, medical, pharmaceutical, or protective purposes is still permitted. At first, 165 countries have signed this Convention and 65 of them have ratified it. Now, the Convention has been signed by 193 countries.

President Joko Widodo and 21 people from different professions, officially received the first vaccination in Indonesia, which took place at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (13/01/21).

According to Jokowi, this vaccination was carried out after the issuance of an emergency use permit from the BPOM and a halal fatwa from the MUI.

Jokowi said, after the initial vaccination at the Palace, the vaccination program will continue throughout Indonesia.

"After we have carried out this initial vaccination, vaccinations will be continued in all provinces, districts, and cities throughout the country," said Jokowi.

"This initial vaccination was carried out after we obtained an Emergency Use of Authorization permit from the BPOM and the issuance of a halal fatwa from the Indonesian Ulema Council. We would like to express our deepest gratitude," Jokowi added.

Jokowi stated that this vaccination is important to carry out in order to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia and to accelerate national economic recovery.

"COVID-19 vaccination is important to break the chain of transmission of COVID-19 and provide health protection, safety, security for all of us, the people of Indonesia and to help accelerate the economic recovery process," said Jokowi.

Not to forget, Jokowi also conveyed an important message that should not be forgotten by all levels of society in all regions, namely the implementation of health protocols, even though they have received vaccinations.

"Even though vaccinations have been carried out, I would like to remind you of the importance of disciplined health protocols. We will continue to wear masks, wash hands, keeping distance, and avoid crowds," Jokowi said firmly.

Jokowi sincerely expressed his gratitude to the vaccinator from the Presidential Team of Doctors, namely Prof. Dr. Abdul Muthalib who became the vaccine injector for him.

"I also want to thank Prof. DR Abdul Muthalib who had injected the vaccine into me," concluded Jokowi.

After the president is vaccinated today, the plan is for the next, namely the ministers from the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet, regional heads, and especially health workers who are at the forefront of the national health system. (RRI)

A number of health workers such as doctors, nurses, and pharmacists were jabbed with Covid-19 vaccine at the lobby of the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (13/1/2021).

One of the health workers, a midwife Dr. Ade Zubaedah expressed gratitude for receiving the Covid-19.

"I got the chance to be vaccinated first and hopefully this will be a motivation for all midwives to be vaccinated," said Ade Zubaedah who served as Secretary-General of the Indonesian Midwives Association in a YouTube broadcast of the Presidential Secretariat, Wednesday (13/1/2021).

She invited all midwives throughout Indonesia to get vaccinated.

"Likewise for the community, don't be afraid to be vaccinated," she said.

In addition to health workers, the Government Spokesperson for Handling COVID-19 dr. Reisa Broto Asmoro also took part in vaccinations at the Merdeka Palace.

"I will be vaccinated by a female vaccinator," she explained.

Around 1.5 million doctors, nurses, midwives, and other health workers were the first to get the Covid-19 vaccine before the rest of the public.

Chairperson of the Committee for Handling Covid-19 and Economic Recovery Erick Thohir said health workers are at the forefront of handling Covid-19 and have the highest risk of being exposed because they have to interact directly with the community.

"They should be vaccinated first, injected first, because they are heroes. Therefore, if the raw materials can be produced, they will become a priority," said Erick in a virtual press conference, Thursday (3/9/2020). (RRI)
