VOI News, Jakarta: President-elect Prabowo Subianto attended the 79th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia commemoration ceremony that took place at the State Palace in the IKN Nusantara Capital City on Saturday morning (17/08/2024)

Prabowo's presence complemented the solemn ceremony that was held in a magnificent open square bedecked with national ornaments.

During the event, Prabowo sat in the front row beside President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on the stage specially prepared for important guests.

Other high-ranking officials and community leaders also participated in the ceremony secured strictly by the Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres), the Indonesian Military (TNI), and the National Police (Polri).

The ceremony to commemorate Independence Day in 2024 was held at two locations simultaneously and in a hybrid format, namely in IKN Nusantara and at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.

President Jokowi led the ceremony in IKN, while Vice President Ma'ruf Amin led the ceremony at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.

The celebration of the 79th Indonesian Independence Day became a special moment because, for the first time, the Heirloom Red and White Flag was raised in the new capital city.

This year, the theme of the Indonesian Independence Day is "New Nusantara, Advanced Indonesia," which showed the momentum of Indonesia's transition, namely in welcoming the new capital city and the transition of government.

Some high-ranking officials present at the IKN ceremony comprised People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Speaker Bambang Susatyo, Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) Puan Maharani, and Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuldjono.

Other attendees at the ceremony were Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, and National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo. (Antara)

VOI News, Jakarta: Indonesia's relations with countries in the Latin American and Caribbean region have been running since the beginning of independence. Indonesia's relations with countries in the Latin American and CaribbeanRegion in various fields need improving.

Second Secretary of the Directorate of Intra and Interregional Cooperation for the Americas and Europe at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rina Permatasari Bey in an interview with VOI RRI, in Jakarta on Friday (16/8) explained that to improve relations between the two countries could start from improving relations among people-to-people contacts. The  efforts to improve good relations between community members can be carried out through various forums.


“In Indonesia there is a saying “Tak kenal, maka tak sayang” meaning ‘not knowing, not loving’. So, it is very important to have a lot of activities, a lot of forums in various fields of economy, culture, sports or art that can bring the people of Indonesia and Latin America closer together, she conveyed.

Moreover,according to Rina Permatasari Bey, the opportunity to increase cooperation with the  countries is very possible because Indonesia and countries in the Latin American region have many similarities.

 

“I think we have a lot in common; we have a passion for sports, a passion for soccer, and we have a big economy. Because, we are developing countries, we need to combine our strengths, our resources, she pointed out.

Furthermore, Rina Permatasari Bey also pointed out that the Indonesia Latin America and Caribbean (INA LAC) Business Forum is to take place in Peru on September 11-13, and it is one of the forums that enhances not only cooperation in the economic field, but also as a forum to improve relations between community news. VOI News, Jakarta: Jember District Head Hendy Siswanto has stated that the Jember Fashion Carnival (JFC) is expected to step up the harmonious relations fostered between Indonesia and Japan since it draws participation from 136 Japanese talents.

As reported by Antara News Agency on Saturday (3/8) Siswanto conveyed that the Japanese delegates' participation in the carnival being held in Jember District, East Java, on August 2-4, 2024, would have multiplier effects on the local economy and help introduce the local culture to a broader population.

"Moreover, the Japanese public will get to know Indonesia's tourism destinations; micro, small, and medium enterprises; as well as culinary and artistic appeals better," he  stated during the JFC gala dinner and press conference in Jember on Friday (August 2) evening.

Meanwhile, JFC President Budi Setiawan commended Sakuranesia Society, a Japan-Indonesia foundation, for roping in talented Japanese artists to perform at Jember's world-class carnival.

"The 22nd JFC will also feature a spectacular fireworks display as a result of collaboration between Japan and Indonesia," he pointd out.

Moreover, Setiawan expressed his optimism that the collaboration of both countries  would strengthen their bonds  and lead to intensified economic cooperation.

Japanese artists participating in the JFC are singer Aoi and the dance group Kadokawa Dreams. Aoi has already performed in the World Kids Carnival, which is the opener of the series of events featured in the JFC.

The 2024 JFC, adopting "Algorithm" as its main theme and "Beyond Binary of Our Story" as its tagline, presented unique costumes on a 3.6-kilometer catwalk during the World Kids Carnival.

On the occasion, children strutted down the catwalk in costumes that highlighted 10 different themes, namely Wayang, Chess, Versailles, Media, Betta Fish, Climate Change, Zodiac, Fairy, Jember, and Rio Carnival.

VOI News, Jakarta: Governor of the Indonesian Navy's (TNI AL's) Academy Rear Admiral Supardi has stated that  the ASEAN Plus Cadet Sail (APCS) is expected to serve as an activity that facilitates Indonesian navy cadets to broaden their network.

"In the APCS, they (TNI AL) cadets can establish a network with cadets coming from around the globe. Thus, once they are inaugurated as commissioned officers, they will have already forged a bond," he pointed out while greeting APCS participants in Jakarta on Saturday.

As reported by Antara News Agency on Saturday (3/8) speaking at the Military Sealift Command (Kolinlamil) Headquarters, Supardi explained that the APCS, being held aboard TNI AL's vessel KRI Bima Suci, brings together navy cadets from Asia, Australia, America, and Europe.

The ship arrived in Jakarta after setting sail from Surabaya, East Java, on August 1. According to the plan, it will reach Singapore on August 6.

The sail provides the cadets with an opportunity to interact, exchange information, and collaborate in navigational training activities.

Moreover, Supardi remarked that such a sail could result in harmonious ties among the international cadets who will serve the navy of their respective countries in the future.

"By the time of their graduation, they (cadets) will already have established a network that facilitates them to cooperate at the global level," he conveyed.

On the same occasion, Commander of Kolinlamil Rear Admiral Krisno Hutomo made similar statements while expressing hope that the TNI AL cadets would make the most of the APCS to obtain valuable knowledge and foster friendship with their international counterparts.

The APCS draws participation from 189 TNI AL cadets and 32 foreign cadets coming from Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Timor-Leste, Australia, Chile, China, India, Italy, Japan, South Korea, the Netherlands, and Turkey.
