The Directorate of Southeast Asia, Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs seeks to realize the cooperation of digital economy between Indonesia and Singapore which was launched by Indonesian President Joko Widodo and Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong last year in a bilateral meeting to commemorate the 50 years of Indonesia-Singapore diplomatic relations. It is expected that with the cooperation, the digital economy of Indonesia will be more growing in the future. This was stated by the Director of Southeast Asia Cooperation, Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Denny Abdi, in a special interview with the Voice of Indonesia in Jakarta on Monday (29/1).
“We believe that Singapore is very advanced and has almost all factors that make it becomes a digital drive. On the contrary, Indonesia has creative young people which is the main requirement to be a developed country in digital economy. Well, in the next one or two years, we will realize, how we can work together with Singapore to strengthen the Indonesian digital economy.” Denny Abdi said.
Indonesia and Singapore are currently committed to boosting their mutual intensive cooperation in the economic field and digital economy, as one of the priorities of cooperation. The issues related to Indonesian labors in Malaysia become one of the main priorities of the Southeast Asia Directorate of Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2018. The issues, are among others protection, education access and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of Indonesian labor dispatch. This was stated by the Director of Southeast Asia Cooperation, Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Denny Abdi in a special interview with Voice of Indonesia in Jakarta, Monday, January 29, 2018.
“Yes there are some targets, which will be prioritized, such as the protection of Indonesian workers. There are some priorities such as access to education or cooperation in the form of MoU of labor dispatching. In addition to solve the problems related to the Indonesian workers in Malaysia, Denny Abdi further explained the Directorate of Southeast Asia Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2018 also prioritized Digital Economy cooperation with Singapore as a follow up of bilateral meeting between Indonesian President Joko Widodo and Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong in 2017. Bandung City has won the Asean Clean Tourist City award at the 2018 Asean Tourism Award (ASANTA), which took place in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Bandung`s Head of Culture and Tourism Office, Kenny Dewi Kaniasari, stated that the award was an achievement of hard work of the city administration and the people community in managing Bandung`s environment, cleanness, and safety in a number of tourist destinations.
"All praises and thanks to Allah. We have achieved the Asean Clean Tourist City award. Bandung focuses on tourism and tourism services," Kaniasari noted here on Monday.
She explained that Bandung was assessed by the Ministry of Tourism for one year. The assessment result was then sent to the Asean Tourism Forum to be re-assessed along with other Asean countries.
The assessment of the Ministry of Tourism team included the availability of public facilities in tourist destinations and sidewalks.
"Bandung has several new tourist destinations and new parks that have been revitalized, which are an added value in the assessment," she remarked.
She added that the award was also achieved by Surabaya and Banyuwangi (East Java).
Kenny pointed out that the award, which was the first for Bandung, would promote the city to the Asean community. (antaranews)
