The exhibition, organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy / Agency for Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf / Baparekraf) and supported by the Implementing Agency for the Labuan Bajo Flores Authority (BPOLBF) will be held in zone 3 Waterfront Labuan Bajo starting from 12 - 26 March 2022 and is open for public visits.

The Managing Director of the Implementing Agency for the Labuan Bajo Flores Authority (BPOLBF), Shana Fatina was present to open the exhibition and conveyed support for creativity and a message about responsibility for environmental sustainability principles.

"Use this creative opportunity to create. According to our concept going forward, this world is moving into the realm of 'sustainability', so always incorporate that aspect into your works, because sometimes it's easier to teach people through works of art compared to regular formal education. Art friends here have a very big role to play in promoting tourism awareness, environmental awareness, and other environmental missions, which would be much easier if conveyed through art," said Shana.

According to a release received by Voice of Indonesia on Friday (18/03/22), Shana also hopes that this artistic creativity can become a new culture for the people of Labuan Bajo. The culture of being creative and collaborating among all creative art actors is expected to create extraordinary works that can further raise many aspects of the history of people's lives.

The Coordinator of Music, Performing Arts and Fine Arts, Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, Sudaryana, expressed his appreciation especially to the participants who were enthusiastic about carrying out the Jama Bebea concept. According to him, joint collaboration through the concept of local wisdom such as Jama Bebea will be one way to care for the local culture.

"I really appreciate the enthusiasm of my friends in Labuan Bajo, how they made this Jama Bebea. To make this Jama Bebea more difficult because there are only obstacles, such as power failure, etc. This is also different because usually someone when making a art, especially fine arts, often do it alone, but this time they are working together, sitting together, and working together," said Sudaryana.

Meanwhile, the Head of the West Manggarai Regency Tourism Office, Pius Baut expressed his appreciation for the implementation of the Fine Arts Acceleration activity which raised the theme and culture of local wisdom, so that the community could maximize the various existing potentials to support Labuan Bajo tourism.

"This opportunity is a golden opportunity. This is a moment of self-potential development. I am happy because this activity is filled with young people, so apart from being blessed with natural beauty, Komodo dragons, and culture, apart from that there are also other creativity that we can create. work and be creative to support our tourism," said Pius.

Ekos, one of the participants of the Fine Arts Acceleration, expressed his hope that the exhibition of Jama Babea's works could trigger the enthusiasm of Labuan Bajo artists and artists to actualize their works to color the city of Labuan Bajo.

"As the name implies, Jama Babea is taken from the Bajo language which means working together. These works are a joint work of Labuan Bajo artists, who worked together in a spirit of togetherness and symbolically symbolizes the unification of coastal culture and mountain culture through the use of materials, "explained Ekos.
