The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, will ensure that the Eid holiday momentum in 2022 can run safely and healthily.

The government has allowed people to go home for Eid in 2022 after two years of implementing mobility restrictions due to the pandemic. The movement of Indonesian people during this year's Eid holiday is predicted to reach 85.5 million people. So that health protocols must be implemented properly.

Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno in the "Extended Weekly Press Briefing" event at the Soesilo Soedarman Hall, Jakarta, Monday (4/25/2022) said his party encouraged stakeholders to echo the message of safe and healthy homecoming more massively.

"We have to really prepare those who drive must be in prime condition, also not sleepy, get enough rest, also ensure the CHSE, so that we can succeed in the government's program so that we can go home and be safe," he said.

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy has prepared a number of programs for safe and healthy homecoming. Among them are interesting digital activations for followers of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy to follow and the general public. With the aim of providing education to travelers so that health protocols are still adhered to. Menparekraf hopes that these travelers can become ambassadors in their respective hometowns in setting a good example of how to implement health protocols.

According to a release received by Voice of Indonesia on Monday (25/04/22), the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy has also prepared 15 homecoming post points from Lampung to East Java, which are expected to become relaxing corners or resting places for travelers before continuing their journey. In the homecoming post, it is planned that Kemenparekraf will distribute 1,200 vouchers for homecoming perpetrators, as a form of appreciation or appreciation for them for playing a role in encouraging economic revival.

"There is also an alternative route or southern crossing (JLS) which is prepared for tourist destinations and the creative economy, including culinary delights," said the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy.

Currently, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy together with the local government tourism office that is on the JLS track and related ministries/agencies are preparing a travel plan (consisting of tourism potential and facilities) for travelers who take advantage of the JLS.

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy has also formed a monitoring and evaluation team during the Eid holiday. An appeal letter to the Head of the Tourism Office to monitor tourist visits and provide reports regarding the conditions of visits to tourist destinations has also been given.

In addition, said Menparekraf, his party together with relevant ministries/institutions will provide education to the public so that they are more careful in choosing and using tourism buses. "We have to make sure there is a safe and comfortable use of tourist buses for travelers," he said.

Eid homecoming is a momentum for regional economic revival through tourism destinations and creative economic actors. It is projected that the economic turnover will reach more than IDR 72 trillion. Homecomers who are also tourists will spend their money for recreational needs, accommodation, consumption, as well as buying souvenirs that are directly related to MSME actors in the area.

"I see this as our potential in the future to rise up, open up business opportunities, and create jobs," said the Menparekraf.

Menparekraf said, the tourist village will be an attraction for travelers who go through the southern route. Therefore, tourism villages that have become prima donna are being prepared, such as the Malasari Tourism Village in West Java, the Pujon Kidul Tourism Village, and the Tamansari Tourism Village in East Java.

“Tourism villages also become interesting in the middle of the homecoming procession, because if they are packaged in a fun way, God willing, this will become a unique tourist destination, meaning that there must be a comfortable homestay, there must be good attractions, and of course, CHSE readiness and health protocols. This is in line with our program Anugerah Desa Wisata Indonesia," he said//VOI
