BAPPENAS Launch a Blue Economy Road Map -
As part of the G20 Indonesia 2022 Presidency, the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas together with PT Dirgantara Indonesia held a G20 Development Ministerial Meeting Side Event with the theme "Harnessing the Ecosystem of Aerospace Industry in Indonesia" on 7-8 September 2022 in Belitung.
"This agenda aims to provide space for policy makers, development actors, and international partners to showcase good practices, challenges, and lessons learned and experiences in the aerospace industry that are relevant to the Indonesian context, as well as to increase collaboration between G20 countries," said Deputy Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas Economic Affairs Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, Tuesday (6/8).
On the sidelines of the Side Event consisting of a high-level panel on 7 September 2022 and an international seminar on 8 September 2022, a Memorandum of Understanding will be signed between PT Dirgantara Indonesia and Airbus to support the growth and strengthening of the national aerospace ecosystem.
"The Indonesian government believes that the potential of technology in the aerospace industry is an extraordinary asset that needs to be managed, improved and its capacity and capability increased to strengthen and support the country's economy, security and defense," Deputy Amalia added.
According to a release received by Voice of Indonesia on Tuesday, one of the focuses of the discussion in the Side Event is a cooperation scheme that is able to guarantee the achievement of independence goals in the long term, also invites new breakthroughs that can be conveyed by potential strategic partners. The Indonesian government considers that policy synergy is very important to accelerate the improvement of industrial independence and competitiveness, especially the defense industry and the national aerospace industry.
"The results of this Side Event are policy recommendations for the development of the aerospace industry in Indonesia, as input for the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas in identifying opportunities to increase cooperation with industry or global companies that can strengthen the national aerospace industry, and accelerate the realization of the 2020 Aerospace Industry Ecosystem Development Roadmap. -2045," said Deputy Amalia//VOI
