VOINews, Jakarta - Indonesia was relied upon by member countries of the G20 at the group's third meeting of ministers and central bank governors (3rd G20 FMCBG) in India, according to Indonesian Finance Minister Sri Mulyani.

She noted that Indonesia is always asked to be the initial speaker or keynote speaker at the meeting.

“This shows that Indonesia's views are very decisive and considered," she noted during a virtual press conference in Jakarta.

Indonesia was able to provide views on several economic issues, such as collaboration in the financial and health sectors, the utilization of multilateral development and private investment, as well as sustainable finance, sustainable infrastructure development, and international taxation, she said.

Moreover, Mulyani became the speaker in three activities: Achieving Growth-Friendly Climate Action and Financing for Emerging and Developing Economies, G20 Infrastructure Investor's Dialogue, and Tax Symposium.

She remarked that Indonesia also strengthened bilateral relations by holding meetings with finance ministers from several countries, such as India and Australia.

Along with India, Indonesia formed the Economic and Financial Cooperation Dialogue (EFD) in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India.

At the discussion, the two countries discussed efforts to maintain high economic growth performance, facilitate job creation, reduce poverty, and intensify cooperation not only under a bilateral framework but also at the multilateral level, she stated.

They also discussed efforts to strengthen trade and investment cooperation between the two countries and address development issues together, including those related to climate change and public health issues.

Meanwhile, Mulyani discussed tax reform, climate change financing, and infrastructure financing with Australia.

Apart from India and Australia, she also held meetings with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), and the World Bank.

During its G20 presidency this year, India has set the theme of "One Earth-One Family-One Future," with the aim of instilling a sense of unanimity for addressing global challenges collectively and effectively. (Antaranews)
