VOInews.id- Vice President Ma'ruf Amin and his entourage arrived in Shanghai City on Sunday to continue their visit in China, including meeting with local halal product entrepreneurs.
After landing at Pudong International Airport from Nanning City, they were welcomed by FAO Shanghai Deputy Director General Liu Guangyong, Indonesian Ambassador to China Djauhari Oratmangun and a number of other Indonesian diplomats.
"Tomorrow, the Vice President will meet with representatives of halal product entrepreneurs who have been cooperating with LPPOM MUI," said the Vice President's spokesman, Masduki Baidlowi, in Shanghai.
The representative office of MUI's Institute for Food, Drug and Cosmetics Assessment (LPPOM) in Shanghai has been accommodating the interests of local entrepreneurs engaged in the halal industry whose products are sent to various countries, including Indonesia.
"They have been working with LPPOM MUI for more than 10 years.... That's why the vice president wants to visit here," Masduki said. He added that Vice President Ma'ruf wanted the entrepreneurs to invest directly in Indonesia.
On the second agenda, Masduki said, the Vice President initiated a meeting of representatives of Indonesian swallow's nest exporters with a number of local importers.
"So, the Vice President encourages that there is an additional export quota for swallow nests. Of course, the quality of Indonesian goods must be guaranteed because China is very strict," he said.
Ma'ruf will also attend a National Dialogue with the Indonesian diaspora in Shanghai. He and his entourage will fly back to Jakarta. (VOI/Akbar)
