Aminudin Aziz, First Secretary Joko Santoso, Head of the Legal Organization, Cooperation and Public Relations Bureau Sri Marganingsih, Chair of the Cooperation Sub-Group Chaerul Umam received directly by the Indonesian Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Jose Antonio Morato Tavares at the Indonesian Embassy in Moscow , on Thursday (27/06/2024).
Discussions were opened regarding socio-political conditions in Russia. Jose said that the perception of Russia as an atheist communist country that has existed among people in Indonesia so far is not true, because currently Russia has developed into a democratic country that frees its people from politics and religion.
Therefore, Jose views the initiation of National Library collaboration with several libraries in Russia as very appropriate and appreciates this effort.
Plt. The Director of the National Library said that cooperation with Russia was a strategic effort in order to develop the National Library's international cooperation network with one of the objectives, namely the identification and collection of Indonesian manuscripts and Indonesian publications abroad.
According to a release received by Voice of Indonesia on Thursday (27/06/24), this step was taken through the signing of an MoU with three libraries, namely the Library for Foreign Literature and the Russian State Library in Moscow and the VV Mayakovsky Central Public Library in St. Petersburg.
