VOInews, Kupang : Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto highly appreciated the Islamic organisation Muhammadiyah for its contribution in building the nation, especially through education, health, and national character building.

The Head of State made the remarks at the opening of the Tanwir Session and 112th Anniversary of Muhammadiyah held in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara, Wednesday (4/12).

In his remarks, President Prabowo said that Muhamadiyah is not only active in da'wah, but also has a strategic role in education and health.

President Prabowo also said that Muhamadiyah's ability to build individuals with love for the country, such as General Sudirman.

"Muhammadiyah's influence is also in addition to da'wah. Muhammadiyah also instils patriotism, enthusiasm, love for the country, and produces extraordinary leaders", President said.

President Prabowo also appreciated Muhammadiyah's presence in various lines of the nation's life, from education to its influence at the international level.

The Tanwir Session and the 112th Anniversary of Muhammadiyah were also attended by a number of important figures, including the 10th and 12th Vice Presidents Jusuf Kalla, Chairman of PP Muhammadiyah Haedar Nashir, as well as a range of officials and national figures//VOI
