President Joko Widodo received credentials from seven ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary (LBBP) "Designate Resident" to the Republic of Indonesia.
The handover of the credentials was held at the credentials room, Merdeka Palace, Jakarta on Wednesday.
The submission of the credentials marked the start of the official assignment of these ambassadors in Indonesia.
The ambassadors of friendly countries received by President Joko Widodo were:
1. Benedetto Latteri, Ambassador LBBP Resident of the Republic of Italy to the Republic of Indonesia;
2. Iv Heang, Ambassador LBBP Resident Kingdom of Cambodia to the Republic of Indonesia;
3. Taesung Park, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea Resident LBBP to the Republic of Indonesia;
4. Johannes Peterlik, Ambassador LBBP Resident of the Republic of Austria to the Republic of Indonesia;
5. Manuel Antonio Saturno Escala, Ambassador LBBP Resident of the Republic of Panama to the Republic of Indonesia;
6. Lars Bo Larsen, Ambassador LBBP Resident of the Kingdom of Denmark to the Republic of Indonesia;
7. Sung Yong Kim, United States Resident LBBP Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia.
The handover of the credentials of the ambassadors of friendly countries began with a ceremonial welcoming ceremony on the front page of the Merdeka Palace.
One by one, the national anthem of friendly countries was played alternately.
Next, the ambassadors headed for the Merdeka Palace waiting room to fill in the guest book before entering the credentials room and handing over the credentials to President Joko Widodo.
When submitting the credentials, President Jokowi and the seven ambassadors and their respective spouses wore masks.
The event continued with a photo session with the ambassadors and the pair, together with President Joko Widodo while maintaining a distance from each other.
At the handover ceremony of the ambassadors' credentials, President Jokowi was accompanied by Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Head of Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono, and other relevant officials.
Finally, the ambassadors and their respective partners took a photo together in front of the Merdeka Palace. (Antaranews)
