Director of Development, Economy and Environment, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Agustavino Sofjan, said that Indonesia in the G20 Forum plays an active role in the formulation of the global economic architecture, enhancing economic growth, and efforts to overcome the global crisis.
"The G20 Forum is seen to be able to help formulate the policy direction of the national economic regulatory framework to optimize benefits in the global economy," Agustavino Sofjan said in the G20 Webinar and Indonesia's Role in Jakarta, Tuesday.
In the G20 Forum, continued Agustavino, Indonesia always voiced the interests of Emerging Market countries and encouraged cooperation in economic development for developing and least developed countries.
"Indonesia also synergizes multilateral, regional and bilateral diplomacy," he said.
The G20 Extraordinary Summit when the Saudi Arabian presidency was held in March.

The contents of the statement included fighting the pandemic in the health aspect, safeguarding the global economy (issuing economic stimulus), overcoming disruption of international trade, and increasing global cooperation.
He said President Joko Widodo at the G20 Summit in March emphasized that the world is facing a major war against COVID-19.
"President Jokowi said this war has no limits. Our two main jobs are winning the war against COVID-19 and fighting the weakening global economy," he said.
President Jokowi, continued Agustavino, invited the G20 leaders to work together against COVID-19 and the weakening of the world economy.
"The President also asked the G20 to spearhead the world solidarity movement and encourage the COVID-19 pandemic not to change the partnerships and cooperation that have been built so far," he said.
President Jokowi, said Agustavino, encouraged the G20 to synchronize economic policies and instruments to prevent a global economic recession and strengthen social safety nets, especially for MSMEs and vulnerable community groups.
At the G20 Summit in March, he continued, President Jokowi supported regional and global financial safety nets.
"The President underlined the importance of preventing disruption of production and maintaining the smooth distribution of goods, especially medical equipment. The President also emphasized the need to foster world confidence that the crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic can be handled," Agustavino said. (Antaranews)
