The omnibus law on job creation would benefit both workers and businessperson as it would improve investment climate and absorb more workers, the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (Hipmi) said.
"I think the omnibus law on job creation will benefit both businessperson and workers," Himpi's head of foreign department for energy, industry and trade, Aelyn Halim said in a statement here on Sunday.
The association welcomed the government's policy to enact job creation law as it would create positive climate for investment in Indonesia.
In addition, the law will create more jobs and reduce unemployment, Halim said.
"I can see President Jokowi's good intention in approving the omnibus law on job creation. I think the government has taken the right decision to increase investment," she said.
The law, she continued, would ensure a better job, income and social protection, and open wider opportunities for the development of micro, small and medium-scale enterprises (MSME) and cooperative units.
Sharing the same opinion, an economist Harits Hijrah Wicaksana said the job creation law would facilitate foreign investment inflows to Indonesia, thereby creating more jobs in the country. .
"The job creation law is aimed to provide licensing facility for investors," he said, adding that the law will ease the licensing process as it will eliminate overlaps with other laws.
According to Wicaksana, business licensing which previously was costly and took a long process, not to mention the potential of corruption, would be simplified with the issuance of the law.
"The job creation law would be able to revive the economy and benefit both businessmen and workers," he said. (antaranews)
