President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo and Sri Lanka President Maithripala Sirisena in their meeting, in addition to discussing economic cooperation, also discussed the development of capacity building cooperation between the two countries. Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, who accompanied President Joko Widodo in Colombo, said on Wednesday, January 24th that at the meeting of the two heads of state, President Maithripala Sirisena hoped that Indonesia could increase the quota of Sri Lankan students to get education at the Institute of Resilience National Indonesia. Sri Lanka also hopes that Indonesia will participate in the development of education, especially in terms of teacher empowerment.

“So far Indonesia has given some capacity building to Sri Lanka. In the meeting, some of the things presented by the President of Sri Lanka are among others expecting that the number of students of Lemhanas from Sri Lanka can be improved. In this case the President of the Republic of Indonesia has responded that he+ will convey this to the Governor of Lemhanas and the President agrees that the number of students from Sri Lanka for Lemhanas will be increased. Secondly, there is a request from Sri Lanka for teacher empowerment and then tourist officers, so the officials in charge of this tourism sector also want to be co-operated in the form of capacity building as well as enhancement of cooperation in the field of education, and the President also respond positively to the request,” Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi said.

Meanwhile, related to the architecture of the region, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi conveyed, President Joko Widodo invited Sri Lanka to actively promote cooperation within the context of the Association of Indian Ocean Rim Association for IORA. This, according to Minister Retno, received a positive response from Sri Lankan President Maihripala Sirisena who conveyed the importance of promoting the Blue Economy cooperation embodied in the Jakarta Declaration and the Plan of Action of the IORA. The minister added that the two countries also agreed to develop the Indo-Pacific region by promoting a transparent and inclusive principle based on the spirit of cooperation, which will result in a peaceful and prosperous Indo-Pacific region. The Indonesian Military (TNI) has capability to counter terrorism through its anti-terror special force units. Therefore, TNI needs to have clear stipulation  in countering-terrorism. It was said by the Commander of TNI Air Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto to Media after the closing ceremony of The Indonesian Military (TNI) and the Indonesian Police (Polri) Leaders Meeting 2018 at the TNI headquarter, in Cilangkap Jakarta on Wednesday afternoon  (24/01).

The anti-terrorism law derives from the main task of TNI War Military Operations and Non war Military Operations in which the TNI also plays a role to carry out the countermeasures of terrorist acts so that in relation to this basic task, TNI also has the capabilities of 3 forces, Land, Sea and Air to maintain the integrity of the territory of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indoensia because the task of the TNI is clear. So, as executor and rehabilitator We maintain and uphold the sovereignty and ensure the safety of the nation. So we have an obligation to participate in countering terrorism.”

Air Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto explained that the Indonesian Military TNI has sent a letter to the House of Representatives to include a chapter that regulates the task and role of TNI in tackling terrorism. VOI News – In response to the world’s strategic environmental development the Indonesian Military (TNI) keeps increasing its vigilance. Advanced technology has contributed to the growing form of threats. It was said by the Indonesian Military (TNI) Commander Air Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto to Media after the closing ceremony of The Indonesian Military (TNI) Leaders Meeting 2018 at the TNI headquarter, in Cilangkap Jakarta on Wednesday afternoon  (24/01).

“The Indonesian Military (TNI) will transform itself to be a professional, modern, powerful, brave, militant and loyal organization followed by the unity with the people so that TNI can respond and consider all kind of various contemporary  threats. Contemporary means asymmetric, proxy and hybrid threat. We are currently entering into the fourth industrial revolution so that digital is the basis,” Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto said.

Furthermore, the Indonesian Military TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto explained that today the threat is changing, but it is increasingly threatening by the use of social media. VOI News - Projects resulting from the signing of a cooperation agreement between the grant management agency, Millennium Challenge Account - Indonesia, with international development organizations, Hivos, have a positive impact on communities in East Nusa Tenggara, in particular Sumba Island. Education and industry sectors have a positive impact on the quality of these projects.  This was stated by the Head of the Office of Energy and Mineral Resources of East Nusa Tenggara Province, Boni, on the sidelines of the National Learning on renewable energy entitled Terangi Nusantara: Turning Hope , Answering the Challenges of Renewable Energy in Jakarta, Wednesday, January 24, 2018.
"So it means that the existing improvement is an example from the educational point of view. There was no electricity there. But when there is the electricity, the reading would interest increases.  Then the working hours of the industries in the area will also improve," Boni said. 
Boni further explained that the Millennium Challenge Account - Indonesia projects implemented in East Nusa Tenggara Province, especially in Sumba Island have also succeeded in creating new livelihoods in various sectors for the local communities. With the new livelihood, the local people's welfare will be better than ever.
