Opening the Opportunities ", the Theme of President's Visit to South Asia
Written by Ani HasanahIndonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi will accompany President Joko Widodo to five countries in South Asia including Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan from 24 to 29 January. In the 4 countries the President will make a state visit and to India a working visit. The theme of this visit is opening the opportunity. The main focus of this visit is the enhancement of economic cooperation.
Foreign Affairs Ministry Spokesman Arrmanatha Nasir said, “the population of these four countries (India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh) is overwhelming, more than 1 billion inhabitants.These are non-traditional Indonesian markets. cooperation to be developed ".
In a Press Briefing held Friday 19 January, he explained, in addition to strengthening economic cooperation, this visit also will also raise the diplomacy of humanity Indonesia. This visit is also part of Indonesia's vision to develop a stable and prosperous Indo Pacific region.
On the same occasion, Director of South and Central Asia of the Foreign Ministry, Ferdy Piay, said that in India President Joko Widodo will attend the 25th anniversary of India-ASEAN and to attend the India Republic Day.

Cooperation between Indonesian & Dutch Supreme Court Has Entered the 4th Cycle
Written by Ani HasanahChairman of Indonesian Supreme Court, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Hatta Ali, SH., MH., said the cooperation between the Supreme Court of Indonesia and the Netherlands will enter its 4th cycle in 2018. This is marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding on extending cooperation in strengthening the judicial system of the two countries, especially the strengthening of the supreme court room system for the next 5 years. The signing was held at the Supreme Court of Indonesia in Jakarta, Friday (19/1). This was conveyed by Muhammad Hatta Ali in "Indonesia-Netherlands Rule of Law and Security Update 2018" held at Atmajaya University Jakarta, Thursday (18/1). He explained that the extension of this cooperation indicates that cooperation has been effective, sustainable, and mutually beneficial for the two countries' Supreme Court. For the Indonesian Supreme Court, this three-period collaboration has provided an invaluable insight into encouraging the effective implementation and management of the room system, simplifying the decision format, and improving the consistency of decisions. Ministry of Tourism in Co-operation with Be Tourist Invite Foreign Tourists to Indonesia

Be Tourist is a tour operator community that works with Wonderful Indonesia and cooperates with the Ministry of Tourism to attract foreign tourists coming to Indonesia. This was conveyed by General Manager of Be Tourist, Reyhan Pattiwael, at the Indonesia Heritage Tour event in Kota Tua, West Jakarta (18/01).
"Actually the work is quite because we carry along Wonderful Indonesia.We are well known as Wonderful Indonesia and there is the wondr of Indonesia.We work with Wonderful Indonesia because we are a community based inbound tour operator.So we are a special tour operator for inbound focus so we only serve foreigners That’s why I invite specifically foreigners who live here, maybe even there are tourists also joining us, the real tourists, so they do not stay here he just stay a few days,” Reyhan Pattiwael said.

LIPI Researcher Hopes Political Parties Build Formal Coalition in the 2019 Election

A researcher of Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) Siti Zuhro said in the 2018 regional head election, political parties seem to have difficulty in building coalitions and propose their candidates. In a special interview with RRI World Service Voice of Indonesia, Siti Zuhro in Jakarta on Thursday (18/1) argues that the coalition of political parties in 2018 regional elections has not been formatted and measurable. According to Siti Zuhro, there is no parallel coalition in the national, provincial and district or municipality levels. An immeasurable coalition of political parties can lead to a fragile coalition. To that end, she hopes that in the 2019 General Election, political parties can coalesce with parties with the same ideology //
“We hope that in the future, the political parties will be more genuine in building coalitions. By building a more genuine coalition, they will inevitably make improvements in the parties and perform a more serious and more transparent and accountable cadre process,” Siti Zuhro said.
Siti Zuhro hopes a formatted and measurable coalition will result in a qualified political party. Indonesia must have political parties capable of showing their supporter base, so only qualified political parties can participate in the General Elections and Regional Head Elections. A newly declared party, according to her, needs to fix the administrative qualification and the quality of the cadres. Siti Zuhro further explained, there will be simultaneous regional head elections in June and the preparation of candidacy for 2019 Presidential Election in August. Therefore, contestation will be fierce especially in the 3 regions considered to be most vote getter areas or reference of voters’ tendency on the political parties.
