The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) in collaboration with the startup company Gojek, a technology company that provides transportation services for disaster mitigation. Gojek becomes the first on-demand company to collaborate with BNPB in managing disaster relief in Indonesia. Head of BNPB, Doni Monardo in a written statement received in Jakarta, Friday (21, 2) underlined that disaster mitigation efforts are a joint affair.
Pentaheliks is a concrete effort by BNPB in the form of involving five parties: the government, the community, the business world, academics or experts, and the mass media in disaster mitigation. The collaboration includes the placement of disaster information content embedded in the Gojek application, training of Gojek employees and partners, and provision of personnel and logistical assistance. President Joko Widodo inaugurated the Asia Pacific Rayon (APR) factory in Pelalawan Regency, Riau Province on Friday (21/2). In his speech, he admitted that he was surprised because he had just learned that APR has advanced technology to produce 200 million industrial plant seeds in the form of acacia and eucalyptus. President Joko Widodo also admired the APR technology which is able to process wood fibers into rayon type textile.
He added that the Indonesian government is committed to supporting the investment climate because many people do not yet realize that the business community has a major role in supporting the circulation of money and also the economy. Therefore, he asked the Ministry of Industry to support the development of the Indonesian garment industry in a bid to go global more widely. (Ant)

The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries - KKP wants the economic value of seaweed commodities which are widely cultivated in various regions to be optimized and improved globally. Secretary General of the KKP Aquaculture, Gemi Triastutik in launching the Cooperation Program between the Government of Indonesia and Australia on Improving Seaweed Seed Production held in Jakarta, Friday (21/2) said that although seaweed cultivation is abundant, its economic value is not optimal. According to Gemi, currently many raw seaweed commodities are exported. Though seaweed can be developed, it has more added value. (Ant)
