DENNY ABDI 2 The issues related to Indonesian labors in Malaysia become one of the main priorities of the Southeast Asia Directorate of Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2018. The issues, are among others protection, education access and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of Indonesian labor dispatch. This was stated by the Director of Southeast Asia Cooperation, Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Denny Abdi in a special interview with Voice of Indonesia in Jakarta, Monday, January 29, 2018.

Yes there are some targets, which will be prioritized, such as the protection of Indonesian workers. There are some priorities such as access to education or cooperation in the form of MoU of labor dispatching. Well, those are concrete targets that we want to realize in the next two years.Denny Abdi said

In addition to solve the problems related to the Indonesian workers in Malaysia, Denny Abdi further explained the Directorate of Southeast Asia Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2018 also prioritized Digital Economy cooperation with Singapore as a follow up of bilateral meeting between Indonesian President Joko Widodo and Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong in 2017. The Directorate of Southeast Asia is a new directorate established by Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Marsudi. Bandung City has won the Asean Clean Tourist City award at the 2018 Asean Tourism Award (ASANTA), which took place in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Bandung`s Head of Culture and Tourism Office, Kenny Dewi Kaniasari, stated that the award was an achievement of hard work of the city administration and the people community in managing Bandung`s environment, cleanness, and safety in a number of tourist destinations.

"All praises and thanks to Allah. We have achieved the Asean Clean Tourist City award. Bandung focuses on tourism and tourism services," Kaniasari noted here on Monday.

She explained that Bandung was assessed by the Ministry of Tourism for one year. The assessment result was then sent to the Asean Tourism Forum to be re-assessed along with other Asean countries.

The assessment of the Ministry of Tourism team included the availability of public facilities in tourist destinations and sidewalks.

"Bandung has several new tourist destinations and new parks that have been revitalized, which are an added value in the assessment," she remarked.

She added that the award was also achieved by Surabaya and Banyuwangi (East Java).

Kenny pointed out that the award, which was the first for Bandung, would promote the city to the Asean community. (antaranews)

President Leaving Bangladesh to Afghanistan

On the sixth day of his five countries visit, President Joko Widodo and First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo, Monday morning , January 29, 2018 left Bangladesh to continue the state visit to Afghanistan.
The Presidential plane of Indonesia-1 carrying President and Mrs. Iriana took off at 09.20 local time or 10.20 West Indonesia Time from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Arriving in Kabul, Afghanistan, President Jokowi and Mrs. Iriana makes a state visit to the Presidential Palace of Arg.
In this palace, President Jokowi is greeted President Ashraf Ghani. Furthermore, the President follows a series of state activities, namely Tete-a-Tete, bilateral meeting and gives a joint press statement.
The President will also meet with the Afghan High Peace Council (HPC) at Haram Sarai Palace (WiAfter that the President will attend a lunch together at the Presidential Palace of Arg.
In the afternoon, the President will visit the Darul Aman Palace which is also the agenda of closing the visit of President Joko Widodo and Mrs. Iriana to Afghanistan.
From Hamid Karzai International Airport, Afghanistan, President Jokowi and Mrs. Iriana along with the entourage will return to their homeland.
Following President and Mrs. Iriana on a flight to Afghanistan were Coordinating Minister for the Economy Darmin Nasution, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Special Staff Coordinator President Teten Masduki, Presidential Secretariat President Heru Budi Hartono, Director General of Protocol and Consular Affairs Ministry of Foreign Affairs / KPN Andri Hadi, Special Staff of President Ari Dwipayana, Military Secretary of President Marsda TNI Trisno Hendradi and Paspampres Commander Maj. President Joko Widodo Arrives in Cox Bazaar

President  Joko Widodo and First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo arrived in  Cox Bazaar, on January 28,, at around 12:40 local time . After the arrival, President and Madame Iriana get an explanation  at the airport, from Cox Bazaar’s Deputy Commissioner, Ali Hossein, concerning the handling of Rakhine State refugees at the Refugee Camp.  They have a chance to see Camp Jamtoli, one of the refugees shelter, about 70 kilometers from the airport. Accompanying President and Mrs. Iriana during this visit were Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Special Staff Coordinator Teten Masduki and Indonesian Ambassador to Bangladesh Rina Soemarno.
