PLN Gradually Recovers Electricity Supply (0)
State-owned electricity firm PT PLN has recovered electric power to Balaraja Extra High Voltage substation in Banten Province, and furthermore it will be channeled to Suralaya steam-fueled power plant (PLTU) to gradually recover its operation to reach its capacity of 2800 MW of electricity.
In addition, power supply from Gandul Extra High Voltage substations in Depok, West Java Province, will be channeled to Muara Karang gas and steam power plant (PLTGU) to supply electricity to the Indonesian capital city, Jakarta.
Acting President Director of PLN Sripeni Inten Cahyani said here on Sunday that the power supply to Jakarta was expected to recover within three hours.
"We apologize for the inconvenience today, and currently all efforts have been made to recover the Java-Bali power system, especially in the area of West Java, Banten, and Jakarta," Cahyani said.
The company has focused on power supply to PLTGU Muara Karang and PLTGU Priok to recover the system in the capital city.
Previously, PLN has recovered the operation of hydro-generated power plant (PLTA) Saguling and PLTA Cirata which are functioned as power stabilizer, and, at the same time, supply the electricity to PLTU Suralaya through Cibinong, Depok, Gandul, Lengkok, Balaraja and Suralaya extra high voltage substations.
PLTU Suralaya is expected to return to its normal operation within six hours to normalize power system in West Java and Banten.
Blackout that affected thousands of homes and public facilities in West Java, Jakarta, and Banten was caused by several troubles in the extra high voltage 500 kV transmission of Ungaran - Pemalang.
"PLN has taken its best efforts and will have evaluation to prevent recurrence of today's incident," Cahyani said.

Jokowi orders best services for victims of Kanjuruhan Stadium tragedy

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has ordered Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin and East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa to provide the best services to those injured in a violence and stampede after a football match at Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang District, East Java Province, on Saturday evening.
"I ask the Health Minister and the Governor of East Java to specifically monitor medical treatment for victims who are being treated in hospitals in order to get the best services," President Jokowi said while delivering a press statement at the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, Sunday.
Jokowi also ordered Youth and Sports Minister Zainudin Amali, PSSI (Indonesian Football Association) General Chair Mochamad Iriawan, and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo to thoroughly evaluate the implementation of the football match and also the security procedures for organizing the match.
In particular, Jokowi asked the National Police Chief to conduct an investigation into and thoroughly probe the Kanjuruhan tragedy that left 129 people dead and 180 others injured. The President expressed his deep condolences for the tragedy that occurred after the League 1 football match between Arema FC of Malang and Persebaya of Surabaya.
Jokowi also ordered PSSI to temporarily suspend the League 1 until the evaluation is completed and security procedures are improved.
"I regret that this tragedy occurred and I hope this is the last tragedy of football in the country. There should not be another humanitarian tragedy like this in the future," the President said.

According to Nico Afinta, the tear gas was fired because the angry supporters could endanger the football players and officials.

Fashion show, expo highlight 2022 National Batik Day

This year's National Batik Day was much more festive with Batik Fashion Show on the longest catwalk which won the Indonesian World Record Museum (MURI) award, as well as batik exhibitions in some places.

Six Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) who worked as crew members (ABK) were picked up by the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) team in Manila, Wednesday (28/09/2022). They were on board the MV Sky Fortune in Tabaco City, Philippines.
This is the result of the hard work of the Indonesian Embassy in Manila in resolving the complicated case faced by six Indonesian crew members in the Philippines. The ship MV Sky Fortune was detained by the Philippines for violating the entry into an area that was not a crew change point in Tabaco.
Quoting from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, the ship also received a claim for compensation from the ship owner. The crew, including six Indonesian citizens, are not allowed to leave the ship to wait for the legal process to be carried out.
But in its development, the crew were abandoned for 7 months on board in inadequate conditions. A number of crew members were sick and lacked logistical supplies. Meanwhile, the condition of the ship is getting worse because the cargo (foodstuffs) is not in a proper condition.

This ADO brought fresh air to six Sky Fortune crew members from Indonesia. They have been stuck on MV Sky Fortune since February 2022.
The crew experienced health problems, because they could not leave the ship. One of the crew members also had to recover from appendicitis surgery on board.
The repatriation process for the six Sky Fortune crew members by the Indonesian Embassy in Manila went smoothly. Local officials also provide full support to the Indonesian Embassy. Health Ministry Normalizes Meningitis Vaccine Stock to Prevent Scarcity

Meningitis Vaccine Certificate will be Integrated PeduliLindungi

The Director General of Disease Prevention and Control at the Ministry of Health, Maxi Rein, said that the Meningitis vaccine certificate will be integrated into the PeduliLindung application. The plan responds to the scarcity of Meningococcal Meningitis Vaccine (MM) which is an obstacle for prospective Indonesian Umrah pilgrims.
“In the future, the MM vaccination certificate will also be integrated with Peduli Protect. Just like the Covid-19 vaccine certificate," said Maxi in an official statement, quoted by RRI.co.id, Friday (30/9/2022).
He said the MM vaccination was an effort to prevent and control meningitis which was needed for prospective Hajj-Umrah pilgrims. "The MM vaccination is listed in the international vaccine certificate issuance document in accordance with the Minister of Health Regulation number 23 of 2018," he said.
To note, the Permenkes was strengthened through the recommendation of the National Immunization Expert Advisory Committee or the Indonesian Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (ITAGI). The ITAGI recommendation states that all prospective Hajj-Umrah pilgrims are required to receive the MM strain ACW135Y immunization.
Meningitis Vaccine is scheduled 14 days before departure to Saudi Arabia. The minimum tolerance limit is 10 days before departure.

East Nusa Tenggara readies Rp73.2 billion in social protection funds

The East Nusa Tenggara provincial, district, and city governments have prepared a total of Rp73.2 billion in social protection funds in a bid to contain the impact of the recent fuel price increase.
"All regional governments, both provincial government and (governments) of 22 districts/cities in East Nusa Tenggara, have allocated a minimum of two percent from the general transfer funds (DTU) for mandatory social protection expenditure, with a total value of Rp73.2 billion," Head of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Treasury of East Nusa Tenggara Province Catur Ariyanto Widodo informed here on Thursday.
Under the Finance Minister’s Regulation Number 134 of 2022 concerning mandatory expenditure for handling inflation impacts for the 2022 fiscal year, local governments must allocate two percent of their general transfer funds for social protection, he noted.
According to Widodo, the funds will be allocated for three months, from October to December 2022, to overcome the impact of inflation.
Regional governments could use the funds to provide social assistance to micro, small, and medium enterprises as well as motorcycle taxi drivers, provide transportation subsidies, and carry out other social protection programs, he said.
The Finance Ministry is monitoring the realization of social protection budget allocation and has asked regional governments to report on the budget realization monthly, he added.
He emphasized that it is important for regional governments to ensure the budget is utilized right on target and benefits the residents directly.
On September 3, the Indonesian government raised the price of subsidized Pertalite fuel from Rp7,650 per liter to Rp10 thousand per liter, subsidized diesel from Rp5,150 per liter to Rp6,800 per liter, and non-subsidized Pertamax from Rp12,500 to Rp14,500 per liter.

Indonesia has five million COVID-19 vaccine doses in stock: Minister

Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin confirmed that Indonesia currently has around five million COVID-19 vaccine doses in stock that are spread across storage facilities of central and regional governments.
“In regions, the stock is still around 2.5 million. In the central (storage facility), there are around 2.5 million doses,” the minister noted while responding to the issue of vaccine dose shortages in several regions here on Thursday.
According to the COVID-19 Vaccination dashboard of the Health Ministry, several districts in the country, such as Dogiyai, Paniai, Tanah Bumbu, North Hulu Sungai, Central Hulu Sungai, Ciamis, Pringsewu, and West Nias, currently have no vaccine stocks.
Meanwhile, vaccine dose shortages are currently occurring in Anambas Islands District (one dose), West Aceh District (six doses), Buleleng City (eight doses), Balangan City (14 doses), Banyumas District (16 doses), Denpasar City (18 doses), Belitung District (23 doses), Tanah Datar (24 doses), and Jembrana (48 doses).
Several other regions that are also reeling from low vaccine stocks are Gianyar District (58 doses), Sumedang District (50 doses), Payakumbuh City (54 doses), Barito Kuala District (54 doses), Murung Raya District (56 doses), Belu District (68 doses), Pakpak Bharat District (70 doses), Boven Digul District (70 doses), Sawahlunto City (78 doses), and South Barito District (86 doses).
According to Sadikin, vaccine doses in the central government can be allocated to several regions in need. In addition, vaccine doses in regions, with high vaccination coverage, can be given to areas that currently have no vaccine doses.
He advised people to not engage in vaccine shopping for booster vaccination, as all vaccines available in the country have received recommendations from the National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM).

Govt drafting regulations to provide legal basis for IKN investment

The Indonesian government is drafting regulations to lay the legal basis for supporting investment and businesses and issuing business permits in the new Indonesian capital of Nusantara (IKN).
"The draft government regulations are expected to be completed in the near future so that they can help the IKN Authority, which will start working at the end of this year," coordinator of the IKN information and communication team, Sidik Pramono, said in a press statement released in Samarinda on Thursday.
As a project which has strategic value for the national economy, IKN will offer interesting facilities to investors. Therefore, they are expected to be drawn to invest in the new capital.
"We hope that a number of regulation schemes that we have prepared will give advantages to investors at the regional level so that we can overtake neighboring countries," he said.
The IKN authority will go ahead with its plan for market sounding. President Joko Widodo is expected to lead the market sounding to promote a variety of investment projects in IKN and listen to the aspirations of investors, Pramono informed.
The government intends to invite domestic and foreign business players to get involved in IKN development so that as little state budget funds as possible are used for the purpose, he said.
