Indonesia's Environmental Affairs and Forestry Ministry or KLHK has deployed task force teams, as a precautionary measure against forest fires, especially in the Sumatra and Kalimantan Islands, during the upcoming dry season. As quoted by Antara News Agency, Minister of Environmental Affairs and Forestry Siti Nurbaya noted, that it remains the government’s priority to take precautionary measures, against the possibility of forest and land fires. Based on the analysis of the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the dry season is expected to peak during the June-July period, especially in Riau, Jambi, South Sumatra, Central Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, and East Kalimantan. Nurbaya cited President Joko Widodo as saying that despite the current COVID-19 pandemic, taking a major toll on multiple aspects of life, priority services should remain unhindered//Ant

The Health Office of the South Jakarta City Administration said a total of 13,065 residents in the city, have undergone rapid testing for the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) as of Saturday. The head of the Health Office, Muhamad Helmy, informed as quoted by Antara News Agency, that 12,646 tested negative and 419 tested positiveThe number of residents testing positive for COVID-19 accounts for 3.2 percent of the total residents who have undergone rapid testing, he added.Mr Helmy said the tests have been conducted in South Jakarta, ever since President Joko Widodo issued instructions for rapid testing on March 20.The President ordered the implementation of COVID-19 rapid testing in South Jakarta before the rest of the country//Ant

Task Force for the Acceleration of COVID-19 Response reported, that patients recovering from COVID-19 rose, to reach 1,042, while confirmed cases touched 8,607 as  April 25. As quoted by Antara News Agency, the government's spokesperson for COVID-19 response, Ahmad Yurianto confirmed the numbers. Meanwhile the number of deaths toll reached 720. Positive cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in 280 districts and cities across the country's 34 provinces. The number of people under monitoring was recorded at 206,911, while patients under surveillance touched 19,084. The highest number of cases until now were recorded in Jakarta, followed by West Java, East Java, Central Java, South Sulawesi, and Banten. Meanwhile, 45 laboratories operate for COVID-19 detection PCR test, with the number of specimens examined since April 1, until now reaching 67,828 specimens and the number of cases examined touching 52,541//Ant

President Joko Widodo and his US counterpart Donald Trump discussed cooperation, to address the dearth of medical equipment and personal protection equipment or PPE,  in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
