The Navy (TNI) explained the condition of the Indonesian Navy's G-36 Bonanza T-2503 trainer aircraft that crashed in the Madura Strait, East Java. The plane crashed and is estimated to have sunk at a depth of about 10-15 meters.

"The name fell in the sea, it can't be intact, it must be damaged, something is loose and so on. The door was found early yesterday, as soon as it fell, the KRI went straight to that position," said KSAL Admiral Yudo Margono to reporters at the Indonesian Navy Headquarters, Cilangkap, East Jakarta, Thursday (8/9/2022).

Yudo said the Rescue Team (SAR) found the door and headset, and other loose equipment. "But when it was lifted it looked like an airplane," said Yudo.

The fighter plane crashed in the Madura Strait - West Surabaya Shipping Line (APBS), during an exercise. Before the crash, the plane was still airworthy, even just finished periodic maintenance last August.

"The plane had an accident when the KRI convoy was carrying out an Air Defense Exercise. In this case, Bonanza acted as an attacker," said Head of the Dispenal Admiral Julius Widjojono, Wednesday (7/9/2022). (RRI)
