Tourism Ministry Encourages Sustainable Tourism Through Several Strategic Focuses

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) has set a focus on encouraging sustainable tourism or sustainable tourism. In an effort to develop sustainable tourism, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy has several strategic focuses on quality and sustainability.

In addition to increasing human resource capabilities, increasing access to the financial sector for micro, small and medium enterprises, market development is also the focus of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.

Minister Sandi added that his party also continues to work with several stakeholders in maintaining the strength of the recovery of the tourism sector and the creative economy.

He emphasized that Kemenparekraf has 5 main sustainable tourism programs that must be well communicated with the training that has been provided.

According to Sandi, the community must really implement waste management. Indonesia became the first country in Southeast Asia to sign its commitment to net zero emission in the tourism sector.

"We are the first country in Southeast Asia to sign its commitment to net zero emissions in the tourism sector, these are efforts that are truly managed in order to move towards climate positive tourism, through carbonization and ecotourism," said Sandi.

He also added that it was a business commitment related to the tourism sector to carry out the Glaslow Declaration and carbon footprint calculations with existing campaigns. So all human resource capital must be able to convey how Indonesian tourism is different from others. (VOInews)
