The national library collaborates with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of State Secretariat to conduct training for librarians in Asia - Pacific.
In order to strengthen its commitment to implementing the South-South Cooperation and Triangular SSTC programs, the Indonesian government represented by the Ministry of State Secretariat (Kemensetneg) has collaborated with various international organizations, including the Colombo Plan. In a press conference which took place on Friday (10/11/23) at the Jakarta National Library, the Head of the Legal, Organization, Cooperation and Public Relations Bureau of the National Library, Sri Marganingsih, explained that Indonesia had been a member of the Colombo plan since 1953.
"The Colombo plan is a non-profit organization that encompasses the concept of collective intergovernmental efforts to strengthen economic and social development. The member countries below in the Asia - Pacific region are centered in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The main focus is on developing human resources and Indonesia has been a member of the Colombo plan since 1953", Sri Marganingsih said.
Sri Marganingsih added that the Social Inclusion Based library good practice program which will be implemented on 13 - 17 November 2023 is a collaboration between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemenlu), Ministry of State Secretariat and National Library.
Meanwhile, the Head of the National Library's Public and Special Library Development Center, Nani Suryani, explained the training that would be carried out in the program.
"One of them is training on how to create social media accounts, then how to carry out promotions and branding for libraries like that. It also conveys how to advocate with stake holders, how to approach partners, stakeholders in the field, both at district, city and sub-district levels", Nani Suryani revealed.
This program will be attended by 17 participants, namely 7 participants from 5 Colombo Plan member countries (Laos, Malaysia, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Vietnam) and 10 other participants are representatives from Provinces/Regencies/Cities in Indonesia//VOI-NK
