The Ministry of Education and Culture has a great responsibility in developing human resources in Indonesia. "This huge responsibility lies on the shoulders of you attending this meeting here," said the President.

"This is where the importance of education, education that teaches the struggle, education that builds the character of the learner, who always learns without waiting to be patronized, who always innovate without waiting to be taught," said the Head of State.
"That is our capital as a great nation capable of solving problems everywhere, and at the same time to win global competition," he said.
The President warned that the wealth of natural resources can not guarantee the welfare and success of a nation. Many developed countries actually do not have natural resources, but on the contrary many countries with abundant natural resources suffer from poverty, even conflict and civil war.
"Natural resources that often spoil and make us lazy, beat the fighting power, make us careless and do not encourage us all to innovate and have creativity," said the President.
On the occasion, the President reminded that the government has been trying hard to improve education services, both at central, provincial and district level through the Indonesian Smart Card program (KIP). "We want to ensure access to education for underprivileged children, "the President said.
Therefore, budget support from Central to Regional is also continuously improved and efforts to improve the quality of teachers and education infrastructure continue to run.

Business and human rights issues are one of the new issues related to the implementation of human rights globally. "Each country has its characteristics that need to be carefully scrutinized and certainly become the factor in the formulation of business and human rights policy. Indonesia for example, micro, small and medium enterprises or MSMEs are the majority of economic actors in the country. Therefore, dissemination and enhancement of undestanding among stakeholders are important, Ruddyard said.
Ruddyard added that the growth of industrial and investment sectors in Southeast Asia is now one of the factors driving countries in the region to formulate policies related to business and human rights. President Joko Widodo Tuesday morning led the National Coordination Meeting on Forest and Land Fire Control of 2018. The coordination meeting attended by several regional heads and police and military devices from the region was held at Istana Negara, Jakarta, on Tuesday, February 6, 2018.
The handling of forest and land fires by the government and its staff in recent times has made significant progress. Data obtained by the President mentions that the number of hotspots in the forest and land fires subscription area is further reduced.
"According to the data given to me and earlier it has been reported by the Coordinating Minister for Economy, there is a very significant reduction of hotspot.In 2015 there were 21,929 hotspots. In 2016 it dropped drastically to 3915. In 2017 it dropped to 2,567 hotspots," he said.
In the event which was also attended by Vice President Jusuf Kalla, the President expressed his appreciation for his staff both at the central and local level for the achievement. Nevertheless, he cautioned that this handling and prevention should be intensified.

Indonesia is known as one of the countries which often provides assistance in the form of capacity building to other countries especially in the Asia – Pacific region in various fields. According to the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Yukiya Amano, the assistance provided by Indonesia especially regarding the use of creative technology is an important point that is owned by Indonesia. This was conveyed by Yukiya Amano after meeting with Deputy Minister of Indonesian Foreign Affairs A. M Fachir in Jakarta, Monday, February 5th.
"You are using in a new creative technology, for agriculture, for human health. Very important point is that you are not only working with IAEA but you are helping other countries, in the ASEAN and beyond. I very much appreciate," Yukiya Amano said.
Yukiya Amano added, related to creative technology cooperation, currently IAEA with Indonesia is developing two important projects. The first project deals with intensifying the quality of soybean production to improve productivity and profitability of soybean farming. The second project involves the use of nuclear techniques, such as immuno radio tests and stable isotopes to increase livestock production and improve the management of locally based feed.
