Indonesia and Cambodia Develop Sister-Temple Cooperation between Borobudur Temple and Angkor Wat

Indonesia and Cambodia agreed to enhance tourism and cultural cooperation. One form of the cooperation is realized through sister temple cooperation between Borobudur Temple, in Magelang, Central Java, and Angkor Wat, in Angkor, Cambodia. In addition, Indonesia and Cambodia in 2018 are also planning to develop a diplomatic training institute in Cambodia. This was conveyed by the Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Marsudi in her press conference after a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, Prak Sokhoon in Jakarta on Friday (February 2, 2018).
“...On cultural cooperation, we agree to further implement the existing agreement on cultural cooperation, including to promote sister temple cooperation between Angkor Wat and Borobudur Temple. And we agree also to start the cooperation in developing the Institute of Diplomatic Training in Cambodia,” Retno Marsudi said.
Minister Retno Marsudi hopes that in connection with the cooperation of developing a diplomatic training institute in Cambodia, Her Ministry expects for a visit from the director of the institute to Indonesia to discuss the programs to be undertaken by the institute in the future.(Rezha/Trans by Dhyka)

Indonesia Interested in Investing in Pharmaceutical Sector in Cambodia
Written by Ani HasanahCambodia is one of countries in Southeast Asia that has huge potential in various sectors, including pharmaceutical industry or medicine. Therefore, the Indonesian Government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs wants the support from Cambodian Government to make Indonesian pharmaceutical companies interested in investing in Cambodia. This was conveyed by Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Marsudi in her press conference after holding a bilateral meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, Prak Sokhoon in Jakarta on Friday (February 2, 2018).
“...Indonesia is looking forward to exploring the opportunity to fulfil the need of Cambodian market of pharmaceutical products and seeking the support of Cambodian government for the Indonesian companies that wish to invest in the pharmaceutical industries,” said Retno Marsudi.
So far, several Indonesian companies have marketed their products to Cambodia. One of them is PT. Phapros that has been marketing its products since 2014. Cambodia is one of trading partners for Indonesia in Southeast Asia which posted positive growth trading from year to year. In January-November 2017, trading value of both countries reached up to $ 492.75 dollars. The figure exceeded the previous trading value that only reached $ 400.01 dollars.(Rezha/Trans;Dhyka)

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to visit Indonesia
Written by Ani HasanahUnited Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Zeid Ra`ad Al Hussein is scheduled to visit Indonesia next week to see the conditions of human rights enforcement in Indonesia. As reported by Antara reported, Zeid Ra`ad Al Hussein's visit is to fulfill the invitation from the government of Indonesia. He will share discussion with President Joko Widodo and the minister on human rights issues in Indonesia. Chairman of the National Commission on Human Rights, Ahmad Taufan Damanik said in Jakarta on Friday (2/2) that Zeid Ra `ad Al Hussein will also hold discussion with the National Commission on Human Rights and a number of other institutions, such as the Indonesian Child Protection Commission and the National Commission for Women. Ahmad Taufan Damanik hopes that the arrival of the UN High Commissioner of Human Rights will provide input for Komnas HAM to better cooperate with in the future. (Ant-Mar/Trans)
