In anticipation of the Chinese New Year and Cap Go Meh 2018, thousands of lanterns have decorated the city of Singkawang, West Kalimantan. The chairman of the Chinese New Year and Cap Go Meh celebration event, Tjhai Leonardi, said 10,000 lanterns would be installed in Singkawang. He said in Singkawang on Sunday, January 22nd that the organizer has started decorating the city of Singkawang with lanterns. He confirmed that this year, there would be new decor and events, such as the Cap Go Meh gate that will be installed near the BNI crossroads, and other ornaments along the protocol roads. Tjihai said, on the protocol roads there will be ornaments of the 12 shiau (Chinese zodiac signs) with an artistic lantern with a height of 2.5 to 3 meters, which will light up at night. Other than the ornaments, this year’s Chinese New Year and Cap Go Meh celebration will also feature a parade of kilin, the highest sky animal, above the liong (lion). PT Kereta Api -INKA (Persero) Madiun this year is working a number of train procurement projects with a total contract value about 3.6 trillion rupiah. That figure increases significantly about 1 trillion rupiah compared to 2017 contract value worth 2.6 trillion rupiah. President Director of PT INKA (Persero) Madiun, Budi Noviantoro, in Madiun, East Java, Monday, (22/1), said the projects are recently conducted by PT INKA such as ordering Light Rail Transit in Palembang, South Sumatra as the transportation mode to support the Asian Games 2018. In addition, PT INKA (Persero) is now also completing the construction of 250 units of passenger train ordered by Bangladesh Railways with a contract value of around 1.5 trillion rupiah.

"This year, INKA has a contract value of around Rp3.6 trillion, most of its investment spent in equipment. In the future our train specification is not designed only with mild steel, but already stainless steel. Welding process of stainless steel is different. But in the future it will be processed by automatic design. Secondly it can also use aluminum alloy, which is better quality than others,"  Budi Noviantoro said.

Budi moerover said, the quality of domestic products can be competed with that of imported goods. This is in line with the government instructions that determine the production of light rail should prioritize the domestic products. To complete the train project order, PT INKA will absorb 500 to 1,000 new workers. The existing 5,000 workers still lacks. // (Wulan/trs.Rezha)

Indonesian President Joko Widodo said the accelerating development  of Sumatra Institute of Technology is immediately needed, as the campus has a supporting faculty to welcome the fourth generation or 4.0 industrial revolution. This was conveyed by President Joko Widodo when reviewing the development of campus building of Sumatra Institute of Technology in South Lampung, on Sunday (21/1). 
 
"To accelerate the development of the Technology Institute of Sumatra, the most important thing for the students to pursue the target immediately is to achieve 4.0 revolution which currently requires quite number of engineers," President Joko Widodo said. 
 
President Joko Widodo reiterated that the acceleration of the development of Sumatra Institute of Technology is very important, because in the future, Indonesia will sustain more diverse of industrial challenges. On the occasion, the President said, that Sumatra Institute of Technology campus is built on 275 hectares of land. Indonesian Badminton men double FajarAlfian / Muhammad RianArdianto successfully wins the final of Malaysia Masters 2018 badminton tournament. The official website of Badminton World Federation (BWF) on Saturday said the Indonesian duo secured the ticket to the top party after subverting the Danish duet, five-seeded in the tournament, Mads Conrad-Petersen / Mads Pieler Kolding, in the semifinals. On the final  they beat Malaysian  Goh V Shem/Tan Wee Kiong [MAS] 14-21 24-22 21-13.
