The Ministry of Industry continues to encourage the acceleration of battery-based electric motor vehicles and new renewable energy development. This step is in line with the government's vision of targeting Indonesia to become a major player in the global automotive industry.

Minister of Industry, Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said in Jakarta, Thursday (24/6) that the automotive industry is one of the priority sectors based on the Making Indonesia 4.0 roadmap. The main target is that Indonesia will become an export hub for motor vehicles, both for fuel-based and electric vehicles.

Director General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment and Electronics at the Ministry of Industry, Taufiek Bawazier said that Indonesia is also targeting to develop the main component industry for electric vehicles in the form of batteries, electric motors and inverters. So far, the automotive industry has been able to make a significant contribution to the national economy.

Indonesia's potential is currently supported by 21 automotive manufacturers. The total production capacity reaches 2.35 million units per year, by absorbing 38 thousand direct workers and more than 1.5 million people working along the value chain of the automotive industry.

According to Taufiek Bawazier, the demand for electric vehicles in the world is expected to continue to increase and will reach around 55 million units by 2040. Eenvironmentally, this growth encourages an increase in the need for lithium ion batteries. The increasing use of batteries also encourages an increase in the raw materials so that Indonesia with the abundant source of this battery raw material will play a very important role.

Currently, there are nine companies in Indonesia that support the battery industry. Five companies provide raw materials, while the other four are battery manufacturers. The development of batteries will also be directed to support the government's renewable energy program; one of which is through solar energy. Batteries that are included in the solar energy ecosystem will encourage the adoption of renewable energy, as well as spur the growth of the solar cell industry that already exists in the country.

Drini Beach is located in Ngestirejo Village, Tanjungsari District, Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta. The distance is 60 kilometers or about 2 to 3 hours by motor vehicles from Yogyakarta City. During the trip, visitors will be treated to a very beautiful view of the coral hills. Arriving at the entrance, visitors have to walk about 400 meters to get to Drini Beach. On this beach, there is a gazebo located on this beach. In addition, on this beach there are also several food stalls that provide a variety of appetizing seafood.

The attraction of Drini beach lies in a large rock in the middle of the beach and divides this beach into two sides, namely the West and East sides. This coral looks so beautiful that it looks like a small island floating in the middle of the beach. It is said that the island is overgrown with Santigi, or local people usually call it "drini". That's why this beach and island is named "Drini". When the sea is receding, you can go to this island. On this island was built a lighthouse where from the tower you can see an amazingly beautiful view. Here you can also clearly see the seaweed among the sea corals and other marine life.

A coral island on the shore divides Drini Beach into two parts with opposite characters. On the east side, you will be treated to towering cliffs, combined with sturdy rocks that make the shores be protected from the fierce waves. If it's low tide, you can see small fish swimming. You can walk to the middle of the sea, far from the beach but you have to be careful with sharp corals. The west side is also interesting. The gently sloping terrain makes this side very pleasant for playing in the water. On this side, many people swim and enjoy the freshness of the water of Drini Beach. On the edge of the sea, rows of fishing boats line up ready to wade through the fierce waves of the Indian Ocean.

The Indonesian Embassy in Bratislava in Slovakia on June 24 held an annual Indonesia-Slovak business meeting with the theme "Business without Boundary: Expanding Market Access for Indonesian and Slovak Businessmen". This activity was the third meeting that aimed to build bridges between entrepreneurs from the two countries, particularly in the trade and investment sectors.

This year, a one-on-one business matching meeting was held in a hybrid manner between 6 Slovak and Indonesian entrepreneurs. The entrepreneurs come from the food and beverages sector, such as canned food, coffee, tea, bio and halal products, defense equipment as well as the labor sector. From these six business matching meetings, 3 companies from Slovakia have agreed to follow up the results of this business matching in the near future. The implementation of this business matching is a follow-up to the Virtual Business Clinic activity organized by the Indonesian Embassy in Bratislava on June 9, 2021 for Indonesian MSME players to penetrate the Slovak market.

Indonesian Ambassador to Bratislava, Adiyatwidi Adiwoso said that "Slovakia is Indonesia's trading partner in the Central European Region and has the potential to become Indonesia's market hub in the Central and Eastern Europe Region. On one hand, geographically, Slovakia has a very strategic location because it is in “The Heart of Europe.” On the other hand, Indonesia can become the hub of the Slovak market in the ASEAN and Pacific Regions. Although up to now there have been trade relations, it is seen that there is still opportunity to improve relations in several sectors, and to increase the number of trade.

This annual business meeting activity is also the beginning of the implementation of the Indonesia - Central Europe Countries (INA-CEE) Business Forum activities. The event will be held by the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on July 14, 2021 in a hybrid manner, in order to improve economic relations between Indonesia - Central and Eastern Europe.

Director General of Economic Cooperation at the Slovak Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dusan Matulay as a key speaker from Slovakia appreciated this annual meeting. Even during the pandemic, trade between Indonesia and Slovakia is still relatively stable and Indonesia has a surplus. It was explained that Indonesia-Slovak cooperation could be developed in several sectors, such as information technology, medical devices, services, food (wheat), and others. According to Matulay, this kind of forum needs to be continuously supported by Slovak entrepreneurs.
