VOInews, Jakarta: Indonesian vice president, Ma’ruf Amin emphasized that Indonesia is keen to contribute to world peace and is committed to supporting all initiatives to achieve the goal. This was conveyed before the delegates attending the 2024 Human Fraternity Majlis in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on Sunday (04/02/2024) as reported by Antara.

“Indonesia supports every initiative that contributes to the realization of global peace and justice, as it has been mandated by our constitution and is in the DNA of our foreign policy,” Amin stated.

Amin said that the global community ought to unite to overcome global challenges. According to him, peace, humanity, and brotherhood among nations are urgently needed to address conflicts, wars, and rivalry currently plaguing the world. He also pointed out that a breakthrough is needed to awaken the spirit of peace, humanity, and brotherhood among nations.

“We hope that the awarding of the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity will be one of the breakthroughs,” the vice president said, referring to the award bestowed on the agenda.

The Indonesian government also lauded the Emirati authority and the organizing committee for the 2024 Human Fraternity Majlis. The 2024 Human Fraternity Majlis was taking place on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together. The document is a joint statement signed by Pope Francis of the Catholic Church and Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmad Al Tayyeb in 2019 in Abu Dhabi about how different faiths can live in harmony across the globe.
