Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) received the original certificate which sets the colonial era’s Ombilin coal mining in Sawahlunto, West Sumatera as the world heritage from the UNESCO in Jakarta on Monday (16/9). The certificate was handed over by the Indonesian Foreign Affairs Ministry to Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) witnessed by the UNESCO Representatives to Indonesia.
“This is the hard working from all parties, it has been started since 2015 when the first time Indonesia registered it through several phases. After that, the process was so long and it’s hard because to get the world heritage status is really difficult in the process of registration, examination and it involved some experts for 4 years until it is determined,” said Hilman Farid.
Moreover, Hilmar explained the next phase is to establish the management and invites five regencies, cities in West Sumatera as well as PT Bukit Asam. The uniqueness of Ombilin coal mining in Sawahlunto is the exchanges of science and technology of Minangkabau with the European technology related to coal exploitation at the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century in the world, especially in Southeast Asia. Russian Embassy in Jakarta gave travel ticket prize to Moscow to the winner of Essay contest and logo design which was held to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Indonesia – Russia Diplomatic Relation, which falls on February 3, 2020. After giving the prize, at the residence of Russian Ambassador in Jakarta on Tuesday (Sept 16), Ambassador of Russian Federation to Indonesia, Lyudmila Vorobieva, said that she is very impressed with number of participants of essay and logo design and works which were sent by the parcipants of the contest.
“First of all I would say that we are very impressed by the number of people who participate in our contest, for the essay and logo type for the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and Indonesia. And the works that have been presented, they are full of real feeling, positive feeling towards our country, and we really appreciate that,” said Lyudmila.
The essay and logo design competition was conducted by the Russian Embassy in Jakarta starting from July 22 to August 27, 2019. The Russian embassy received 309 essay and 39 logo designs from Aceh until Sulawesi. Three Indonesian citizens succeeded in winning free tickets to Russia as the prize of their participation in the competition. They were Udhy Mozal, the winner of the best logo design who received Jakarta-Moscow-Jakarta ticket; Rafly Aditya Nurdhani,the winner of the best essay who received Jakarta-Moscow-Jakarta ticket; and Monica Jesusia, the second winner of essay competition who received Denpasar–Moscow– Denpasar ticket. Indian Embassy in Jakarta in cooperation with Indonesian Trade Ministry held Multi Product Roadshow which focuses on beef, rice and sugar export from India to Indonesia in Jakarta on Monday (16/9).Indian Ambassador to Indonesia, Pradeep Kumar Rawat in his welcoming speech said that Indonesia and India complement each other in exporting and importing agricultural products. For instance, Indonesia imports rice from India and India imports palm oil from Indonesia.
“But there are many commodities that Indonesia is only supplying and can supply. And all of you know, it’s a very sensitive matter in Indonesia, palm oil. And India is possibly the largest or the second largest importer of palm oil from Indonesia. Coconut is a good product and in addition, Indonesia produces so many herbs which are very important part of India’s medicines tradition, and some of it is all being sourced, but it will create a better awareness about it. There could be new areas of cooperation which we can find.” said Pradeep.
Moreover, Ambassador Pradeep Kumar Rawat reemphasized the target of 50 billion USD which had been stated by President Joko Widodo and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for bilateral trade cooperation that will be achieved by 2025. The Multi Product Roadshow in Jakarta was attended by Indonesian Trade Minister, Enggartiasto Lukita and it was followed by 40 members of Indian Trade delegation promotion. (VOI/AHM)
