Next, they gotsnacks for appetizer such as croquettes and other light snacks. There is a snack that is considered quite special and rare called Garulina. Garulina was the opening snack at the Pahargyan Dhaup Ageng Pakualaman lunch on the first day. Garulina has been around since the era before Indonesian independence. Garulina is actually not a typical Central Javanese food. It looks like the Lapis Legit layered cake, but there is something different, because there is a special layer like vla which is made from fresh milk, eggs and sugar. To get this sweet snack, Pakulaman Temple has to place a special order from the third generation of makers who have been pioneering since the 1950s. Padjadjaran University (Unpad) students developed the idea of a solar-powered electric bicycle. Using energy from the sun, the bicycle, which is named "Easy Bike", is believed to be more environmentally friendly than other electric bikes currently sold on the market. Apart from being environmentally friendly, Easy Bike also has access to Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), GPS, and calorie counter. Because it utilizes solar energy, several charging stations have been initiated in the campus environment.

With the presence of Easy Bike, it is hoped that the use of motor vehicles on campus can be reduced and switch to using environmentally friendly vehicles. Considering the contours of the Unpad campus have many uphill roads and are challenging for the students who want to cycle, this environmentally friendly electric bicycle can also be a solution. One of the team members, Mutiara explained that his side has also calculated the carbon dioxide emissions that are estimated to be reduced if the students on the Unpad campus use Easy Bike. It is estimated that more than a thousand tons of carbon dioxide will be reduced if this electric bicycle is actually applied.

For charging, the team has also made a prototype electric bicycle with a charging station. In the future, Easy Bike will continue to be refined and it is hoped that it can be implemented on the Unpad campus. The idea of a solar-powered electric bicycle won first place in the Student Category National Scientific Writing Competition at the VOSICO event held by the State University of Malang in August 2020.

Amid the Covid-19 pandemic that is still being dealt with in Thailand, Thai riot police carried out an evacuation at the outer office of the Thai prime minister from hundreds of thousands of protesters in the early hours on Thursday (15/10). An emergency decree was issued to tackle the growing protests by banning large crowds and the publishing of sensitive news.

A series of demonstrations over the past three months has brought hundreds of thousands of people onto the streets of Bangkok, Thailand. They are demanding the removal of Prime Minister, Prayuth Chan-ocha, former leader of a military regime, and a new constitution. The protesters are breaking a long-standing taboo against the royal family, by calling for reforms to King Maha Vajiralongkorn's monarchy. They even dared to block the motorcade of the royal family, an act which the government used as an excuse to establish its emergency measure.

As soon as the emergency decree took effect at 04:00 local time, anti-riot police approached the protesters who were camping outside the Government Building. But many of them had left on Wednesday night.

The period of the Covid-19 pandemic is indeed a tough time for almost all governments in many countries. Maintaining economic stability is the biggest difficulty that must be faced. What is interesting is that in Thailand, whether it is the post-lockdown effect or otherwise, people are starting to question the power of the Thai monarchy that has not been touched. This is the first time the King of Thailand has been dogged by protests. Something has been taboo;  even violated the law.

Thai King Maha Vajiralongkorn is known as one of the richest monarchs in the world with royal family assets conservatively valued at US $ 70 billion dollars. This is now the focus of the pro-democracy movement which demands greater transparency in monarchical finances, and limits on its very broad powers. This is the basis of the demonstration movement amid the pandemic which is then attempted to be resolved by decree.

Perhaps, this decree issued by the Thai government could hold back the demonstration. However, the Covid-19 pandemic is still difficult to predict when it will shake off. It is equally difficult to predict whether Thailand will not continue to be rocked by further demonstrations.

Indonesia sign UNWTO tourism ethics                                                                                                                                                                                                                           UNWTO

Indonesia wants to be a pioneer in developing sustainable tourism and preserving the environment, local culture, and human rights, including the economic life of people in post-COVID-19 tourism areas. This was conveyed by Indonesian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain and the representative of Indonesia at UNWTO (World Tourism Organization), Hermono. As reported by Antara London, Monday, 5/10 in connection with the signing of the UNWTO Framework Convention on Tourism Ethics (UNWTO FCTE) in Spain, Ambassador Hermono said that Indonesia was the first country to sign the UNWTO FCTE or tourism ethics framework convention. Ambassador Hermono represented the Government of Indonesia in signing the UNWTO FCTE which is an international convention to promote fair, inclusive, and transparent tourism.

He said that the signing of the convention is a significant step towards ratification of the convention, which was adopted at the 23rd UNWTO General Assembly in St Petersburg, Russia in September last year. According to Ambassador Hernowo, the convention was carried out so that world tourism development would still pay attention to the code of ethics as stipulated in the convention. He also admitted that the reason Indonesia considers that’s important for the convention to be implemented immediately because the entry into force needs a minimum of 10 countries to sign it. He emphasized that Indonesia's strong commitment is also a moral responsibility because Indonesia is actively involved in the formulation of the convention. This is one of the reasons why Indonesia took the initiative as the first country to have signed the convention with the hope that other UNWTO member countries will soon follow.

Executive of the Economic Function of the Indonesian Embassy in Madrid, Svetlana Prasasthi said that by signing the convention, Indonesia has proven its commitment to upholding the highest ethical principles in developing the Indonesian tourism sector. So far, Indonesia has also played an important role in the preparation of the convention.

The Instrumentation Engineering Department at Vocational Faculty, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) succeeded in initiating an innovation called Co-Saber: Corona Smartband and Smart Detector, a smart presence technology to prevent the spread of the corona virus in small and medium industries. Chair of the Armies Team, Eko Rian Fauzi, said that since June, the government has implemented a new habitual adaptation period to restore the wheels of the economy in Indonesia, but the impact of this policy has apparently added a new cluster to the spread of Covid-19. They considered the presence method using fingerprint to be one of the causes of the spread of the virus. Therefore, Co-Saber is here as a solution.

Co-Saber consists of two devices, namely Smartband and Smart Detector which are connected by an internet connection. The smartband is specially designed to resemble a bracelet that workers will wear. This tool functions to monitor the travel history of workers so that this tool is accompanied by a Global Positioning System -GPS. Meanwhile, the Smart Detector is used as a non-contact presence tool before workers enter the work location. To minimize physical contact, a face detection feature is embedded to identify workers who are in attendance. In this device, there is also an infrared ray-based temperature sensor to measure the body temperature of workers without making physical contact.

For how it works, first, the ultrasonic sensor will identify the presence of someone before the device. If he or she is detected, the camera will later take an image of the worker's face. Then, the results will be processed by face detection technology to find out the identity of the worker who is attending. Furthermore, the travel history of the worker will be retrieved from Cloud Storage and automatically identified whether the worker has visited one or more locations on the Covid-19 blacklist. The results of the temperature identification and the location visited will be reprocessed and displayed by the indicator. Eko revealed that previously, there was a similar technology in 2014, especially in the use of face detection as an online presence. What distinguishes this study is that the Co-Saber technology is equipped with features of measuring body temperature and identifying the travel history so that it can adjust to the conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic currently hitting the world.

The Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok held a workshop along with the Indonesian people in Thailand, which was attended by approximately 80 Indonesian citizens on Sunday, ( 4/10). This activity is aimed at not only enhancing the relationship between the Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok and the Indonesian people in Thailand, but also discussing relevant issues in a bid to foster Indonesian communities in Thailand. This is part of the sustainable efforts of the Indonesian Representative to empower the Indonesian Diaspora Network and the Indonesian Student Association in Thailand, to become national ambassadors, and to help further promote Indonesia in Thailand. This workshop was an opening of a series of activities carried out by the Indonesian Diaspora Network and the Indonesian Student Association in the fields of sports and cultural arts. The Chancellor for Ad Interim of the Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok, Dicky Komar, at the opening of the event said that this activity was filled with discussions on issues regarding consular affairs, immigration, promotion of culture and education. The Indonesian people, both members of the Diaspora and the Association, seemed to enthusiastically participate in this activity which was the first direct interaction activity during the Covid-19 pandemic.
