Indonesian government asked Australia and other countries to support peace keeping process between Palestine and Israel that has been continuously done to give solutions for the two states. It was affirmed by Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister, Retno Marsudi during a press  conference with Palestine Foreign Affairs Minister Riyad Al Maliki at the Pancasila Building in Jakarta on Tuesday (16/10/2018) to respond Australian Prime Minister, Scott Morrison’s statement that Australia is open on the possibility to move their embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, eventhough they have committed on the two states solution.  

“Indonesia has asked Australia and other countries to continue to support Palestine-Israel peace keeping process in line with the principle that has been agreed and not to take any steps that can threat the peace process itself and the world’s security stability. Indonesia’s support to Palestine is the trust of the constitution,” said Retno Marsudi.

Moreover, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi has summoned Australian Ambassador to Indonesia, Gary Quinlan to the Indonesian Foreign Ministry office on Tuesday afternoon (16/10) in connection to the plan. Meanwhile, Foreign Affairs Spokesman, Armantha Nasir told RRI World Service Voice of Indonesia in Jakarta that Quinlan was summoned for an explanation from the Australian government about its plan to move its embassy to Yerusalem.

“We stated our position on Australia’s statement on Tuesday, October 16^th 2018 in connection to the Palestine issues,” said Armanatha.

Ambassador Quinlan arrived at the Indonesian Foreign Affairs Ministry office at 05.15 and met with Minister Retno Marsudi. After their meeting, Quinlan told the media that Australian position will not change and still support two state solution where Palestine and Israel can live side by side peacefully. The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a public diplomacy dialogue themed "Indonesia-Korea Toward a People-Centered Community of Peace and Prosperity" at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Jakarta, Monday (15/10). On that occasion, the Director General of Information and Public Diplomacy of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cecep Herawan specifically told that South Korea had strength in terms of public diplomacy so that Indonesia could learn from the experience of the country in delivering a message of peace throughout the world.

"We realize that Korea has strength in public diplomacy. It has what is called the Korean Wave, where through K-Pop, K-Drama, they are able to introduce Korea to all corners of the world. I think with the richness of Indonesian culture, we should be able to do the same thing as learning from experiences owned by South Korea," said Cecep Herawan.

Cecep Herawan added, the dialogue on public diplomacy between Indonesia and South Korea is a commitment between the governments of the two countries in carrying out the Special Strategic Partnership. The aim is that each community has the same insight or knowledge about public diplomacy. Meanwhile for the South Korean government, this public diplomacy dialogue is a means of disseminating information on the development of the peace process that took place on the Korean peninsula which can be conveyed to the whole world, especially to Asia. Public diplomacy dialogue about Indonesia and South Korea was also attended by the Director General of Information and Public Diplomacy as well as South Korea's Deputy Foreign Minister, Bahk Sahng-Hoon, South Korean Ambassador to Indonesia, Kim Chang-Beom and Incheon National University professor, Lee Hochul. The annual meeting of International Monetary Fund or the 2018 IMF-World Bank Group meeting in Bali ended on Sunday (14/10). The success of the meeting held by Indonesia gets appreciation from Managing Director of the IMF, Christine Lagarde and President of The World Bank, Jim Yong Kim. Lagarde said that the success of the meeting is a fascinating accomplishment started three years ago. She also said that IMF is a friend of Indonesia

"This is an incredible achievement actually started 3 years ago. It’s a long voyage to Indonesia and all of us are embarked upon when Indonesia was selected from a list of many candidates as the best possible location to have a meeting of the World Bank and the IMF. Terima kasih Indonesia atas semua jerih lelah anda. And I really want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for that. The IMF is a friend of Indonesia, we are here to stand by you when it is tough when it is good. And I would like to say simply IMF adalah “teman” Indonesia, said Christine Lagarde .

Meanwhile, President of the World Bank, Jim Yong Kim, said that Indonesian nation is a nation with resilience and compassionate and the World Bank is glad to respond to Indonesia's compassion and ready to help Indonesia.

"What we have learned is that the people of Indonesia are both extremely resilience and extremely compassionate. And we at the World Bank Group are very happy to be able to meet that compassion by announcing that we would be able to respond to the government's request for up to 1 billion dollars to supplement rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts and to bolster long-term resilience in Sulawesi and Lombok,"Jim Yong Kim said .

The World Bank provides up to 1 billion US dollars in loans in the form of loans to the Indonesian government to complement relief and reconstruction efforts in affected areas, such as in Sulawesi and Lombok. Chief Executive Officer of the World Bank, Kristalina Georgieva, at a joint press conference with Indonesian Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati in Nusa Dua, Bali, Sunday (10/14) said that this assistance was also intended to strengthen long-term resilience. The funding will be available upon request from the Indonesian government. It will be followed by a 5 million dollar grant for technical assistance for detailed planning, to ensure that reconstruction will last well and be implemented on a community-based basis. Kristalina Georgieva said, the World Bank's aid package could include cash transfer funds for the 150,000 families affected by the disaster. for a period of between 6 months to 1 year. Strengthening the existing social protection system is designed to support local economies and jobs during the recovery phase, and to avoid long-term damage to human capital.

"The World Bank is making up to 1 billion Dollars available to Indonesian authorities to use, once they get full understanding, what may be needed and prioritize treaties: one builds resilience for the future, not only in Lombok and Sulawesi but build resilience for the country because disasters will continue to hit and the climate change there would be more worse. 150,000 families that are in the two places, that are most severely impacted and that are most valuable. Last but not least, of course, we would support the direct reconstruction efforts. What we want to see is to build neighborhoods, not houses, not streets but neighborhoods so that strong resilience of the Indonesian communities can be protected and people can go together and value new hopes," Kristalina said.

The proposed US $ 1 billion aid package could also include a new independent emergency recovery program, to finance the rebuilding of public facilities and important infrastructure assets, such as hospitals, schools, bridges, and clean water.
