The look of Labuan Bajo development plan -
BPOLBF (Executive Agency for the Labuan Bajo Flores Authority) is preparing to develop four tourism development zones in Bowosie Forest, Labuan Bajo, Flores, East Nusa Tenggara. The integrated and sustainable tourism area occupies an area of 400 hectares or 1.98% of the total area of Bowosie forest which reaches 20,193 hectares.
BPOLBF President Director Shana Fatina said the development of this area will be divided into 4 zones including a cultural zone, an adventure zone, a wildlife zone, and an entertainment zone.
"The first is the cultural zone, with the concept of highlighting the culture of Flores and NTT by highlighting the uniqueness and diversity of the culture of Flores and NTT as a tourist attraction. This zone will feature attractions such as Hikayat Komodo, Culture Performance Art, Museums, local cultural galleries, Agriculture Tourism and Pray hill. Second, the Wild Nature Zone with the concept of keeping the exoticism of wild life going hand in hand and becoming a tourist attraction, as a space to show the Komodo dragon biosphere reserve to tourists. Inside it will feature the Natural Reserve Gallery, Mini Zoo, night safari and lumina forest attractions," said Shana Fatina.
Next, continued Shana, the Adventure zone with the concept of providing adventures and various outdoor activities that are unique and different. It will feature attractions such as glamping, hiking and biking tracks, zipline coasters, tree top net playgrounds, sky coasters, ATV offroad tracks, tree top cycling, glass walkways, flying fox and outbound packages. And finally the Entertainment zone with the concept of making a destination that provides various entertainment activities and self-treatment, which contains various attractions such as sky restaurant, wedding venue, sunset view point, spa and wellness, forest pavilion and park area.
"The Labuan Bajo Authority Area will become a landmark representation of the Komodo dragon biosphere reserve, because it not only creates a play space for humans but also a play space for animals, nature complete with its ecosystem. Therefore we conducted an in-depth EIA study, it is hoped that Labuan Bajo's biodiversity can come back to life and sustainable," said Shana Fatina.
According to a release received by Voice of Indonesia on Saturday (09/07/22), the position of the tourism authority area was very strategic, located above the city of Labuan Bajo and clearly visible from Komodo Airport, very suitable for international meeting activities, such as the Asian Summit and other MICE activities.
He revealed that developing tourism in Labuan Bajo requires caution so as not to change the landscape that can affect the socio-cultural environment of the surrounding community. The development of tourist attractions, both natural, cultural and artificial attractions is absolutely necessary in order to seize the opportunity of Labuan Bajo as a leading tourist destination and increase the stay of tourists.
"Availability of amenities with local entities and blends with nature will increase tourist attraction because it presents something unique. The key is the harmonization of nature and social culture of the community, therefore the involvement of the surrounding community is absolutely necessary in the development of the Authority area," concluded Shana Fatina//VOI

Batanghari library -
The Sumatra region is known as the world's producer of palm oil. This potential should be able to maximize the welfare of the community. That's not the case. The literacy factor is to increase oil palm productivity again.
This was conveyed by the Regent of Batang Hari, Muhammad Fadhil Arief when opening the talk show Improving the Community Literacy Index (PILM), Thursday (7/7/2022).
Palm oil production in Batang Hari is currently only seven quintals per hectare per month. Far from ideal conditions. Regent Arief believes that if the community has good knowledge and information, oil palm farmers in Batang Hari can produce three tons per hectare per month.
“The people of Batang Hari 82% work as oil palm farmers. However, it is the big companies that enjoy the results from palm oil,” said the Regent.
Therefore, Regent Fadhil advised oil palm farmers in Batang Hari to increase their knowledge. People must be aware and understand that anyone will be left behind if they adapt quickly. That is the importance of having the ability to acquire knowledge by reading.
"This is where the problem lies. Our farmer referee knowledge is not comprehensive enough. I don't know how to choose good seeds, how to plant well, clean the land well, and how to make fertilizer more effective and efficient," explained the Regent.
The presence of the library which was just inaugurated with the Deputy for Library Resource Development of the National Library of Indonesia, Deni Kurniadi, is expected to be a place that attracts the public. Loaded with a variety of contemporary activities. In particular, the Regent asked government employees to be active examples so that people would come to the library.
According to Deni Kurniadi, the library itself has an obligation to facilitate the activities of all Indonesian citizens. The position of the library is very strategic in creating a learning community.
“Currently libraries are encouraged to provide more benefits for the community through a social inclusion-based library service transformation program. With the tagline literacy for welfare, this program has targeted 34 provinces, more than 300 regencies/cities and 3,000 villages in Indonesia," said the Deputy.
Deni also emphasized that good literacy skills will have an impact on the strength of the foundation in forming cognitive skills, social sensitivity, and community productivity. Literacy is needed so that Indonesia is no longer a market for developed countries.
"Natural resources will eventually run out, but sustainable, literate human resources are needed in the development of science and technology," he said.
The huge potential generated from oil palm should be able to improve welfare. Moreover, Indonesia is known as one of the world's largest palm oil exporters. However, this potential is being eroded because it is precisely what is produced in Indonesia that has low economic value, such as CPO and PKO.
"It's better if we focus on products derived from palm oil to be used as cosmetic ingredients that are no less valuable. In fact, by 2045, Indonesia is targeting to become a center for producers and consumers of palm oil derivative products in the world so that it can determine global CPO prices," said Head of the Faculty of Agriculture, Jambi University, Mursalin.
The importance of the role of literacy in the progress of a country was also explained by the Education and Culture Attache of the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo, Japan, Yusli Wardianto. The international community recognizes that Japan is one of the countries with good literacy.
The reading culture in Japan is built from an early age. All parties are involved without exception. Children in Japan from birth are familiar with books. Cool again, the Japanese government has a program to give gifts of books to newborn children.
"They distributed books to mothers when they took their children for the first immunization," explained Yusli.
The literacy movement in Japan began in the 17th century, where Terakoya had grown throughout Japan and reached its peak in the Meiji Restoration era. The number of Terrakoya even then had already reached more than 15,000. Terakoya is a place where ordinary people's children learn to read, write, and count. The result in 1913, Japan has managed to become one of the world's largest book producers.
The success of Japan is not impossible to be followed by Indonesia. Moreover, Indonesia has no less than 164,610 libraries. Much higher than Japan which only has 3,360 libraries//VOI
The signing of memorandums of understanding between 17 ministries/agencies, BUMN, and public legal entities, which have basic services needed by the community through MPP -
The National Library of Indonesia (Perpusnas) also supports efforts to accelerate the implementation of public service malls (MPP) throughout Indonesia.
Support is provided by participating in the signing of memorandums of understanding between 17 ministries/agencies, BUMN, and public legal entities, which have basic services needed by the community through MPP. This collaboration is an initiative of the Ministry of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB). The parties who cooperate will provide public services at the MPP according to the scope of their respective authorities.
The signing of the memorandum of understanding was witnessed directly by the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ma'ruf Amin. In addition, all regional heads who will hold the MPP will take part in the virtual event.
The Vice President stated that the signing of this memorandum of understanding was an important step to realize the commitment in realizing bureaucratic reform. The Vice President hopes that the memorandum of understanding will soon be realized by putting aside sectoral egos, in order to accelerate the implementation of quality MPP.
It is explained that the government is fully responsible for providing quality public services to citizens from birth to death. "Processing birth certificates, basic health services, education, taxes and death certificates must be accessible to the public in a practical and simple way," explained the Vice President at the PANRB Ministry office in Jakarta, Tuesday (28/6/2022).
The vice president explained that the target of 100% MPP has been built throughout Indonesia by 2024. Until June 2022, as many as 59 MPP are present in the community.
"Until mid-June 2022, the number of MPPs that have been inaugurated has only reached 57 MPPs, plus 2 MPPs that are ready to be inaugurated in 2022. This means that there are only 59 MPPs or about 11% of 508 districts/cities throughout Indonesia. Thus, we still have a lot of homework to do to provide MPP in each region,” he explained.
In addition to the quantity target, the Vice President requested that the quality of the MPP be considered by evaluating its effectiveness and readiness to become a digital MPP.
"I am optimistic that we can achieve both the quantity and quality targets, if the regional heads really carry out their commitments, and the heads of ministries and central institutions provide their support," he said.
The Vice President added that the success of implementing MPP in districts/cities can be one of the benchmarks for the success of national bureaucratic reform.
Main Secretary, National Library of Indonesia, Ofy Sofiana, who was present representing the Head of National Library, said that his party was proud to be involved in providing facilities and infrastructure at MPP. According to him, the involvement of 17 agencies in this memorandum of understanding will make it easier for the public to access the management of public services.
This ease of access is in line with the National Library of Indonesia's efforts to reach the community by providing books that are easy to reach and read. In essence, the National Library of Indonesia seeks to increase the people's love of reading. At MPP, National Library of Indonesia has prepared a Digital Reading Corner (Pocadi) so that people can take care of their needs and read books.
"Because basically the National Library also has the same vision, providing easy access to the public so that the public's information needs are fulfilled, all their interests are fulfilled, and it is easier to manage all matters related to their interests," he explained.
He supports the government's efforts to build MPP in all regions in Indonesia. However, he added, this requires commitment from the local government and support from the central government.
The ad interim Minister of PANRB, Mahfud Md, explained that MPP was adapted in Indonesia since 2017. At the beginning of the implementation of the MPP policy, 4 pilot MPPs were set, namely MPP DKI Jakarta, Batam, Surabaya, and Banyuwangi. The concept of implementing the MPP is an initiation that begins with the results of studies, imitation, and excellent public service practices through the concept of a public service hall in Georgia and Asan Xidmat in Ajerbaizan.
According to a release received by Voice of Indonesia on Tuesday (28/06/22), to encourage the implementation of MPP in districts/cities, efforts will be made to strengthen and accelerate it, namely strengthening the commitment of leaders, especially in the regions to support the implementation of MPP, strengthening support from DPRD regarding budgeting policies in the regions for the formation of MPP, and strengthening understanding of the concept of implementing MPP and its impacts. to public service reform//VOI
