Indonesian Foreign Minister made the first bilateral visit of to Peru, and met Foreign Minister Popolizio and discussed a range of bilateral cooperation sectors. They both agreed to strengthen in particular economic cooperation between the two countries. They also welcomed the progress achieved in the field of fisheries, tourism, agriculture Minister Popolizio and I also exchanged views on international and regional issues of concern, including Rakhine State. Indonesia appreciates the reciprocal support provided by Peru for Indonesia's candidacy for non permanent membership in the UNSC 2019-2020.

Minister Retno Marsudi received the El Sol del Peru of the Grand Cross award from the Government of Peru during my bilateral visit to Lima, Peru, this afternoon (23/05)

This award is granted for the contribution given in strengthening bilateral ties between Indonesia and Peru It is hoped that the granting of this award will further elevate the strong cooperation between the two countries to Machu Pitchu heights ( MOFA Twitter )
