Indonesia condemns the shooting in Al Noor Mosque and Linwood Mosque in Christchurch, New Zealand, on Friday, 15 March 2019, around 13.40 local time.

The Government and people of Indonesia convey our deepest condolences to all the victims and their families.

The Embassy of Indonesia in Wellington is following every development of this case and has sent a team to Christchurch to coordinate with local security authorities, hospitals, and the Indonesian Student Association.

There is no information on Indonesians among the victims of the shooting.

There are 331 Indonesian citizens living in Christchurch, including 134 students. The distance between Wellington and Christchurch is approximately 440 km.

The Government of Indonesia advises all Indonesian citizens in New Zealand to remain alert and safe.
