Vice President Jusuf Kalla attended the Christchurch Call for Action: To Eliminate Terrorist and Violent Extremist Content Online, in Paris, France, (15/5). He was accompanied by Foreign Affairs Vice Minister, AM Fachir. On this forum, Vice President emphasizes three important elements to counter violent extremism, starting from buidling community resilience and solidarity, improving internet governance and burden sharing mechanism through public-private partnership. He also showcased Youth Ambassador for Peace Programme as a concrete example to combat violent extremism online among youth. Ministry of Foreign Affairs last month opened this year programe and encourage youth to diseminate peaceful messages to counter hate speech and extremism.
