Indonesia exported 80 tons of swallow nest worth US$150 million dollars or Rp2.2 trillion from a Chinese company during the Annual Conference of Swallow Nest Industry in Xiamen, Fujian Province, China on October 27-30 2020. The transaction was made through a purchasing agreement signing between Production General Manager of Yan Palace Seelong Food Co Ltd, Huang Danyan and Trade Attaché of Indoneaian Embassy in Beijing, Marina Novira Anggraini amid the event. Indonesian Ambassador to China Djauhari Oratmangun to Antara News Agency in Fuzhou, Fujian on Friday (30/10) said that the company imported swallow nest from Indonesia beginning from 2021.

Ambassador Djauhar fulfilled an invitation from Chinese Association of Agricultural Product Wholesale Traders by attending the conference with Indonesian Consul General in Guangzhou Gustanto and Trade Attaché of Indonesian Embassy in Beijing. He also stated that currently, Indonesia is the world's biggest swallow nest producer with China as its biggest consumer.

During January-August 2020, China had imported swallow nest worth US$275.7 million dollars. Some 73.7 percent of which came from  Indonesia with total import value around US$203 million dollars or increasing 90.3 percent compared to swallow nest imports by China from Indonesia in the same period in 2019. Thereby, Ambassador Djauhari Oratmangun hoped the cooperation to be increased since he believes the people of China like the swallow nest from Indonesia.
