The Papua Football Academy (PFA) at the Lukas Enembe Stadium, Jayapura Regency, Papua has been inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo. The Main Expert Staff of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Theo Litaay hopes that the inauguration of the PFA can improve the achievements of Indonesian football.

According to him, PFA exists as a form of government investment, because seeing the potential of Papuan football talent is so extraordinary. "In Papua, soccer is very popular," he told Pro3 RRI, Wednesday (31/8/2022).

It is hoped that with the development of this potential, there will be football players from Papua who have international standard quality. "From the existing potential, it is hoped that later it can also develop for the welfare of the community," he said.

PFA is a place to learn football and formal education for Papuan sons. PFA was created to prepare students to be competitive, creative, and competitive individuals.

This football school will be managed by Wolfgang Pikal as technical director. The former assistant coach of the Indonesian national team will work with coaches such as Ardiles Rumbiak, Kelly Pepuho, and Melky Papare. (RRI)

Minister of Communications and Informatics Johnny G. Plate said Kominfo has prepared telecommunications networks and frequency spectrum security and monitoring. This was done to support the implementation of the G20 Indonesia Summit.

“Kominfo has prepared a telecommunications network, not only networks in Bali and around the implementation of the activities of the G20 Indonesia Presidency. In the Bali area, there are 7,500 Base Transceiver Stations for 4G and more than 30 5G BTS," he said at the G20 Summit Preparation Coordination Meeting, at the Apurva Kempinski Hotel, Badung, Bali, Tuesday (30/8/2022).

Johnny emphasized that if there were problems with the telecommunication network during the implementation of the G20 KKT. His party has prepared a backup network as in the implementation of the National Sports Week (PON) last year.

"We are preparing a backup network as in the implementation of the PON in Papua last year. We set up broadband backbone networks. For the redundancy, we prepare the fiber optic backbone network as well as satellite and radio links for ICT infrastructure, all telecommunications and fiber optic operators are alerted. Including the legal umbrella if we have to use international routes,” he explained.

Meanwhile, related to navigational security and flight safety, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics has alerted the Radio Frequency Spectrum Monitoring Center of the Directorate General of Postal and Information Technology Equipment Resources. Later the hall will monitor frequencies in the airspace of Surabaya, Banyuwangi, Denpasar and Mataram.

“We have prepared Spectrum Frequency Analyzer equipment to analyze the entire moving spectrum here for VVIP flight safety to avoid interception and interference. This collaboration is necessary between Kominfo, the Indonesian Air Force, and the Ministry of Transportation," he explained.

Johnny stated that currently he is also preparing three layered surveillance system mechanisms to monitor bandwidth and network availability. According to him, the Ministry of Communications and Informatics has a monitoring center to monitor the quality of telecommunication services and monitor the condition of Indonesia's digital space.

“Kominfo monitors bandwidth quality of service and quality of experience throughout Indonesia. Furthermore, through the BLU BAKTI surveillance system, Kominfo monitors satellite networks, radio link networks, and fiber optic networks. Then, through the cyber drone, the Directorate General of Aptika is fully operational in monitoring the condition of Indonesia's digital space, such as the distribution of fake news based on lawful interceptions," he said. Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Minister Arifin Tasrif accentuated the government's commitment to implementing carbon-neutral (Net Zero Emission/NZE) projects to be more accountable and transparent.

According to the minister, implementation of clean energy transition projects needed support from audit institutions in each of the G20 countries.

"Financial audit institutions have an important role in ensuring the consistent implementation of the NZE Program that is accountable and transparent," Tasrif noted at the Supreme Audit Institution G20 (SAI20) Summit in Nusa Dua, Bali, as quoted from a statement received here, Wednesday.

SAI20 is a forum formed to contribute to the G20 community, especially in responding to the needs of global governance, transparency, and accountability, especially in situations and during the post-pandemic period, to accelerate economic recovery and support the achievement of sustainable development goals (SDGs).

He later stated that the presence of audit institutions was expected to provide concrete energy transition policy recommendations.

"This will improve the performance and accountability of public sector institutions, both in terms of program and policy effectiveness," Tasrif added.

The Indonesian government has, so far, made efforts to create a green economy by developing bankable projects, incorporating supporting factors for green growth investment, designing innovative economic instruments and policies, and implementing good governance to maintain a conducive renewable investment climate.

"New and renewable energy has the potential to become a driving force for the local industry, investment, and job creation as well as ensuring energy security and climate change mitigation," Tasrif noted.

To this end, the government is striving to create an environment that supports transparency of non-financial information, such as policies based on environmental, social, and governance principles or Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) to support the clean energy transition process, he stated.

The minister also offered to intensify collaboration between ministries and related stakeholders to supervise the implementation of strategic projects.

"We want the efforts to be in accordance with the corridor and be able to anticipate any irregularities to accelerate accountable economic development," he stated.

He expressed optimism that all relevant parties would assist in conducting the audit and providing access to the requisite data and information related to the examination while taking into account the applicable laws and regulations.

Indonesia already has in place a roadmap to achieve the NZE by 2060 or sooner to support the implementation of a green economy. The economy and funding schemes are one of the challenges in implementing energy transition.  (Antaranews)

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) affirmed that the three new provinces in Papua -- South Papua, Central Papua, and Papua Pegunungan -- were established based on demands from residents at the grassroots level.

"I heard (the appeal) myself, and the government heard appeals from the grassroots. When I visited Merauke and Pegunungan Tengah (districts), the (advocacy) groups approached me since the past five, six, and seven years. We followed up on their appeals gradually. (New provinces were established) by requests from local groups," the president stated after launching the Papua Football Academy (PFA) at the Lukas Enembe Stadium, Jayapura District, Papua, Wednesday, as observed from the Presidential Secretariat YouTube channel.

The president said that the three autonomous provinces were established with the aim of ensuring equitable development in the Papua region and accessible public services for residents across the region.

"Papua region is too vast if divided only to two provinces. It is too vast to ensure effective service reach," he stated.

The head of state then welcomed the debate and opposing opinions in the public regarding the new Papua provinces as the dynamics of democracy.

"I reiterate that (the new provinces) are founded on grassroots' appeals, and the presence of pro and cons opinions is part of our democracy," Jokowi remarked.

Last June, the House of Representatives passed the legal basis for the establishment of three new provinces of South Papua, Central Papua, and Papua Pegunungan.

According to Article 76 of Law No. 2 of 2021 on Special Autonomy in Papua, the establishment of new provinces in the region must consider several factors, such as political, legal, and administrative aspects; social and cultural factors, availability of human resources, basic infrastructure, and economic capability.
